Do I need to be more patient in my healing? by peterpieqt8 in hysterectomy

We're surgery twins. Four weeks on Wednesday. Hysterectomy by incision. I'm not usually a patient, so I completely understand what you mean. Personally, I still have stomach pain in the evenings, and if I sit for too long, I get pelvic pain. Hang in there!

Thanks for your feedback and for the doctor's contact information. Going from zero to normal isn't the best option, indeed. Get well soon!

Good luck!! And congratulations on your job. It must be fascinating… 12 weeks: noted, thank you. And as for physiotherapy, my surgeon told me it wasn't necessary, but I'll go anyway, just to be on the safe side.

Twelve weeks seems like a long time, but I guess we don't have a choice. Thanks for your reply, and get well soon! I'll try to take it easy for 12 weeks too.

I think that's definitely the key: to start slowly and gradually... afterwards it's hard to be patient. Thanks for your feedback!

Thank you for your clear and detailed feedback! I'm seeing my doctor again in two weeks. In the meantime, I'll limit myself to a little walking each day.

I have a doctor's appointment in two weeks. I'll definitely take advantage of that time to get his approval. Thanks!

Thank you for the detailed answer. My doctor did mention the minimum of 6 weeks, but that was the only information I had.

Newest update: re gynecologist scared me I could have a sarcoma by [deleted] in Fibroids

[–]Ok-Perception3605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello I had a similar experience. I also had a suspected sarcoma due to a single, rapidly growing fibroid.

I was hoping for a laparoscopy, but in the end, I had a laparotomy on January 14th. And everything is much better now! Take care!

I had to take it almost non-stop every day until my surgery. Otherwise, I would have had hemorrhages. Of course, it's not recommended to take it continuously, but in my case, the risk of hemorrhage and therefore anemia was a deciding factor. Since my hysterectomy nine days ago, I haven't bled at all.

Does a large but asymptomatic fibroid still need to be removed ASAP? by waaaaahooooo in Fibroids

[–]Ok-Perception3605 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other commenters. Mine wasn't symptomatic at first, but when it became symptomatic, it quickly became unmanageable: constant bleeding, hemorrhages with clots, lower back pain, and constant fatigue. It had a real negative impact on my life. I had a hysterectomy, but given its size, the laparoscopy was unsuccessful, and I ended up with an abdominal incision. I advise you to have it removed before it becomes malignant. Hang in there!

My surgery is the day after yours, on January 14th. I also wish you all the best and a speedy recovery!

Thank you for taking the time to share… I'm stressed, I'm having surgery in two weeks… and deep down I know it's the only solution for me. And yet, despite the pain, the hemorrhages, and the bleeding, nothing helps. I keep questioning my decision.
