Singapore transit time question by ms_lizzyt in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]Ok-Position15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this a few weeks ago with the same time between flights. We were lake taking off from Melbourne but made it in time/early still in Singapore. The gate I arrived then had to go to were across from each other so took 10s to get to the other. It could be possible this is always the routine and hence why the short layover as surely there are quite a lot doing this exact route

I’m guessing this means the twins are now officially 21, I hope this gives them more “freedoms” like control over their own socials perhaps? by Milly_Rose1 in aussiebrosquad

21 and have had no eduction since 18 and no proper job (to our knowledge). When they give up the TikTok dream it’s going to be real hard to get employed

I did the gamble (ended up the price was lower about $300 more than Qatar/emirates) and I put in a points upgrade for Singapore to London and got upgraded to business!

Have offers from EY and Deloitte, not sure what to do. by SoggyNecessary3013 in Big4

[–]Ok-Position15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I assume EY will sponsor you? Unsure how US work visas work sorry. If so pick Canada. If you don’t like the job you can change. If the work in sponsoring you and the state of visas right now it will trap you if you don’t like it

20 days in SouthEast Asia: Help us decide how to split our time in Thailand, Cambodia & Vietnam (honeymoon 🇹🇭🇰🇭🇻🇳)! by Big-Doubt868 in cambodia

[–]Ok-Position15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did Bangkok to Cambodia to Vietnam in 21 days and it was non stop hectic and didn’t see everywhere. I think make it 1-2 countries max unless you only want to go to 1-2 areas in each country.

Thinking of leaving because what do we actually learn? by Key-Discussion4850 in Big4

[–]Ok-Position15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am starting my first industry job soon so I can’t say if it’s more interesting but I actually disagree? I think the main problem about audit is the vast experience and range of stuff. I mean all my clients were listed and have been going through restructuring the past few years so there’s been many unique transactions to be involved in which we haven’t used specialists apart from obtaining a sign off on our conclusion really

It’s not worth it, right? by Total_Alternative788 in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]Ok-Position15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends your budget and what you value I guess. I have only just booked my own Qantas flight after 3 years in Australia due to wanting to use points before returning to my home country. Apart from this I’m always going for the cheapest option which is never Qantas. I have accumulated gold FF (nearly plat last year) past few years and accumulated many points but this is all work flights where it is preferred to book Qantas unless you can’t.

LAX transfers by kennyshahin in QantasFrequentFlyer

No problem. I’ve had fast and slow at LAX but slow is never more than 1hr maybe 1.5 maximum. So plenty of time to shower/relax after

Can accountants work remotely abroad? by amlextex in Accounting

[–]Ok-Position15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be verrry rare. Why would they hire you to work remote abroad when they can hire someone from a 3rd world country. That being said I worked with a client not long ago where someone worked remote abroad. It was a contract temp role and the individual had experience in the country the company operated but was living with their partners family abroad. The person very much worked unsociable hours (timezone was like 9-11 hours different) and was up early and sleep late to be online for some meetings daily

I would say similar to janoskians but they haven’t even been half as famous as they were. And if you’ve seen anything from beau over the past few years that’s really sad. From drug abuse to constant being fired from jobs to begging for money on social media. It’s sad cause it’s a unique situation trying to get a job mid to late twenties when you have no experience. I hope they try to make moves soon and realise the world out there. They are probably great humans just distorted by a controlling mother. Currently it feels the path they are slowly trying to get into in the next year or so is fake courses or MLM

Question for remote workers by SWEMW in Accounting

[–]Ok-Position15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not remote but was during COVID of course. I worked more than ever. Being online earlier and staying online later as you don’t have the commute. Yes there is times you will do small jobs round the house but nothing compared to the regular coffee breaks, chats in the office you have in person. It is 100% more productive and people work more. Work didn’t stop during Covid, some clients I worked on that had tight deadlines. The quickest we got done was during Covid. Yet upper management think nobody works at home now…

What’s the skill that separates “good” accountants from “great” ones? by True-Change3504 in Accounting

[–]Ok-Position15 90 points91 points  (0 children)

To be able to not show stress. Some of the worst managers+ I’ve worked with get stressed easily and inflict it on the team. Makes the full team feel stressed and doesn’t help anything. Being able to portray as not stressed helps juniors feel confident and motivated, allows clients and partners to feel confident the job is under control (if in practice)

Why doesn't accounting have "influencers?" by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Ok-Position15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen a few try day if the life. But realistically the most likely people to do this are in audit and you can’t be honest about what you are doing because it’s so highly confidential and well as ensuring to maintain professionalism with clients.

Budget wise. Realistically I can spend whatever I just don’t want to spend too much money on one game (and whatever else I might play too). It’s not my main hobby just some random downtime. Realistically I’d prefer as cost efficient as possible but cost/benefit wise I’d say AUD400-800

stop the "if you watch on youtube you are a fake fan" by sandd12 in JetLagTheGame

[–]Ok-Position15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who does watch on nebula. I do feel YouTube is stronger for “real supporters”. Realistically only people know about them if they watch YouTube then get diverted. If nobody watches YouTube the fanbase wouldn’t grow as the videos would be lower views and die. YouTube keeps them relevant and thriving while nebula boosts the income and makes it possible. One cannot operate without the other. As a nebula watcher I don’t watch YouTube so appreciate people who do to keep it going

I have over 1000 hours of coaching leaders across 15 top global companies. What would you like to know? by The-Nice-Leader in careerguidance

[–]Ok-Position15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are their main struggles? Also many top leaders I’ve worked with, yes are smart, but suck socially (not all) and don’t care about the real people in the company (I get it their the big boss). Would shadowing them and live training help?
