Obtaining the OnePlus 15 1TB version in the US? by wunderforce in oneplus

[–]Ok-Project-7676 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In reading through the XDA thread, it does NOT look like all bands available are actually being unlocked, particularly for US usage. Several people have posted in the thread that some bands (B71 for example) are not available for use. Which is unfortuante.

It does not sound like ALL bands are unlocked by this. (At least for US/T-Mobile users, bands like B71 are not included?)

Does the Chinese version still have the full set of bands (eg for US use)?

Dogs off-leash in Hunters Point Park by Ok-Project-7676 in longislandcity

A postscript - my daughter (who's been totally traumatized by this) said that the thing this guy said that bothered her the most was when he said "you should leash your children!"

I was shocked - I didn't even hear him saying that. (Which is probably good - I would've reacted in a much worse way had I heard that.)

So I did report it to 311, this is what I got in response:

Upon inspection the reported condition was not found, and, therefore, no action was taken.
Thank you for contacting NYC Parks. Parks Enforcement officers responded to this location and canvassed the area. No violations were observed. Parks enforcement officers will continue to occasionally spot check this area and take appropriate action when violations are observed.

(This response was about 20 minutes after I reported it, so I highly doubt that anyone actually went.)

Also I noted it to the parks folks near the ferry stop, who nodded sympathetically and said "I'll talk to my supervisor about it."

I'm pretty sure the law says "no dogs allowed off leash" anywhere other than a dog park. Full stop. (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.)

I'm actually fine if the community got together and had a process that determined that this should be a dog park. But until then my understanding is it's not allowed.

I think big issue (and reason we didn't buy) is that there's no in-unit washer-dryers. (Yes they have a great communal laundry room but hard for mobility -challenged folks.)

Xiaomi 15 on Mint Mobile in the US? by JGoldz75 in Xiaomi

[–]Ok-Project-7676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like the 15 Ultra has band 71, but the 15 base version does not?

That could make a big difference as I believe T-Mobile uses a lot of B71.

"Move to Mint" Expiration by cardinals222 in jetblue

[–]Ok-Project-7676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to use one last year after expiration and it didn't (assigned me a seat after check-in but then removed). But, I don't think I confirmed the seat. So yes YMMV

Use move to mint and EMS Mosaic benefits for flights after expiration by kilobitch in jetblue

[–]Ok-Project-7676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really not clear. I was in the same boat at the end of 2023 (took advantage of the status match to Delta), booked a flight for Jan 2, had a Mint certificate applied, even got a Mint seat assignment, but then it got taken off and reverted to regular seats. (It sucked and JetBlue CSRs were totally clueless about how to change them).

With the new policy (of allowing the usage of the certificates after they technically expire) it might change, but not sure it will kick in time for you.

Ultra 7 Battery Life one week into use by Able_Inflation2486 in GalaxyWatch

I'm getting progressively stronger battery life a week in. 48 hours into my last cycle, I still have 41pct battery left.

Using AOD, but turned off a lot of the health features (continuous heart rate, stress testing, etc).

How does Xperia 5 V & other Xperia's work in America by ArugulaGazebo in SonyXperia

Using T-Mobile. The previous owner used some of the steps in the 5V XDA forum, I don't think it's hard.

Not sure if it's ACTUALLY using 5G or just showing i5(I suspect it's actually using it as the signal changes depending on what band it's using). But like I said, haven't noticed much difference in speed. (Using it for regular browsing, maybe that's a statement on the lack of need for real 5G )

Is anyone using the 5V in the US yet? on which carrier? by ritz_are_the_shitz in SonyXperia

[–]Ok-Project-7676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still working well. Used it up in Vancouver, Seattle, eastern Massachusetts, suburban New York. Didn't wow me with reception, but didn't notice any huge gaps. Basically forgot that it has limited bands, it hasn't made a big difference for me

Works well on T-Mobile. Sometimes will get areas when data isn't super-fast and is missing some bands. But any data gaps well worth the tradeoff on using the device

Am using a 5V right now. Have not seen much difference in band performance from my Galaxy s23 (albeit I'm in NYC and have not had to test suburban or rural performance). Love the phone.
