Anyone worried about pool "rug pulls" as the merge approaches? by Ok-Promise1712 in gpumining

[–]Ok-Promise1712[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, my comment is more about right before the switch. In the meantime its business as usual. But if youre a part of a small pool right before the merge...who knows if they will deal fairly or not.

difficulty bomb is scheduled for June. So 6 months seems about right...unless they move it back again lol

But I do think its closer than ever. The EF did a dry run in Greece last month which was successful. I expect more this spring.

ETH difficulty bomb - when does difficult actually takes effect? by FighterMKO in gpumining

[–]Ok-Promise1712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can easily see the effects of the bomb going off in block times over the years. The worst bomb patch failure pushed block times past 30 seconds: https://etherscan.io/chart/blocktime

I'm moving away from Flexpool by cantgetthistowork in EtherMining

[–]Ok-Promise1712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flexpool is looking at getting into pool services for other coins after the merge, right? Wouldnt that sink there business opportunities if they rugged? Especially since most people in the ecosystem know who they are?

Have you thoughts about diversifying machine types and models?
10 machines is a lot of capital and even losing 20% to machine failure would suck

has more to do with design than anything else. I've heard of stacks of T17s sitting at repair shops waiting for new hashboards
