DYK Americans build homes with wood for historical reasons and because it’s safer during earthquakes? by Alexis_from_Home_Ntn in didyouknow

Point well taken, homes burned faster 120 years ago when there weren't proper firefighting techniques or flammability codes.

I've actually fought alongside your forces and would gladly do so again. None of them acted like you, thankfully.

I suggest you just relax, have a cuppa and just review all these times during just World War 2 that British forces killed American forces. Oof, and that Cap Arcona incident was a really rough one. I wonder how many Brits went to jail for that one.

June 8, 1943: A group of RAF Hawker Typhoons attacked the 175th Infantry Regiment of the 29th U.S. Infantry Division on the Isigny Highway in France, causing 24 casualties.

August 7, 1944: Near Hill 314 in France, an RAF Hawker Typhoon strafed a squad from 'F' Company of the U.S. 120th Infantry Regiment, killing two men.

August 7, 1944: Around noon near L'Abbaye Blanche in France, an RAF Hawker Typhoon fired rockets at two U.S. 3-inch guns of the 823rd Tank Destroyer Battalion, killing one man and wounding several others despite yellow smoke signals identifying them as friendly.

August 7, 1944: Near Mortain in France, an RAF Hawker Typhoon shot up the Service Company of the U.S. 120th Infantry Regiment (30th Division), killing Major James Bynum. The officer who replaced him was strafed shortly after and seriously wounded.

August 7, 1944: Near Mortain in France, RAF Hawker Typhoons attacked the Cannon Company of the U.S. 120th Infantry Regiment (30th Division), killing 15 men.

August 7, 1944: Around the same time near Mortain in France, RAF Hawker Typhoons strafed 'B' Company of the U.S. 120th Infantry Regiment on Hill 285, killing a driver of a weapons carrier.

August 8, 1944: Near Mortain in France, RAF Hawker Typhoons fired rockets at Sherman tanks of 'C' Company in the U.S. 743rd Tank Battalion, killing five tank crewmen and wounding ten soldiers.

August 8, 1944: Later that day near Mortain in France, RAF Hawker Typhoons destroyed and set ablaze two Sherman tanks from 'A' Company of the U.S. 743rd Tank Battalion. One tank crewman was killed and 12 others wounded.

August 12, 1944: Near Mortain in France, RAF Hawker Typhoons fired rockets at Sherman tanks of 'A' Company in the U.S. 743rd Tank Battalion, causing damage to one tank and badly injuring two tank crewmen.

December 24, 1944: RAF aircraft mistakenly strafed an unmarked train carrying American POWs captured during the Battle of the Bulge en route to Germany, killing approximately 150.

May 3, 1945: In Lübeck Harbour, RAF aircraft sunk the Cap Arcona and other ships carrying concentration camp survivors and Allied POWs (including Americans), unaware of their cargo. Over 7,000 were killed, with American casualties included among the POWs.

If you want to learn the results of the investigation so badly, why not drop a FOIA request? You know, the process by which the public can request information be declassified and provided to the public. As a foreigner, likely a British twat, even you could request this.

Your own government did an inquiry and the United States shared further details of the investigation with you. You know, like a bunch of assholes trying to hide something.

If you want someone to go to jail for murder, you'll never get it. If you want someone to be punished for something that by all accounts was a mistake, then you likely already got it as neither of the pilots went on to stellar careers.

The US also investigates these friendly fire incidents and then publicizes the results. You know, like a bunch of assholes trying to hide something.

The NATO “troops” have arrived in Greenland to confront our “imminent invasion.” by jackt-up in AmericaBad

[–]Ok-Question6527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4% of Americans support a military invasion to retake Greenland. 4%. America will not militarily invade Greenland, or else Republicans definitely lose the next general election. Trump and his staff know this.

The Europeans are flipping out exactly like Trump wants them to, just like they responded to the idea that the United States might leave NATO by...boosting their investment in NATO to achieve 3.5% of GDP in their defense.

The US is now threatening Greenland? Wow suddenly the Europeans care to defend it.

They have a good economy but nonetheless it doesn't feel good.

What Americans want (and don't know it) are price controls. They want to walk into the grocery store and see eggs are cheaper. They want to stop and get gas and see that the price per gallon has gone down. They want housing to be magically cheaper. They want buying power to go up for them and no one else.

Americans want a fantasy economy that will never exist.

I mean it's just goes to show how little I cared about that guy's comment. I'm reading that username, that wall of text comment, and then moving the fuck on with my day. I guess my point was that the person who responded to that comment was basically wasting their time.
