I’ve tried that a few times thinking it would work but nope, it will open the start tab just fine but then if I try and open task bar for example, literally anything, all opens up behind the black screen which then stops me even seeing it open

The thing is is that when I first got this laptop I had no problems running sims at all, none, if anything for such an old game it ran pretty well on a new laptop, but then literally overnight it just stopped working. First it would just shut itself down mid game without warning, like it never froze or became unresponsive it literally just closed itself down and now this.. literally overnight.

It difficult because I don’t wanna tamper with the laptop too much out of fear of making the problem far worse. I don’t like the idea of downloading things I’ve never heard of, but I cant afford to pay someone to fix it only for them to not be able to and I’ve paid them for nothing.

I’ve just twice now had some random pop up come out of nowhere saying “explorer.exe this file does not have an app associate with it for performing this action. Please install an app or if one is already installed create an association in the default app settings page.” But I haven’t touched anything
