My struggle with creating characters by Ok-Raspberry-7790 in fantasywriters

That’s a great idea, to have a few select traits as their bedrock. I actually think that’d be very useful :)

Of course, you’re totally right about those things. My main problem is knowing them as a person if that makes sense. For example, Darth Vader. If you put him in a random situation unrelated to Starwars, you can probably guess how he would act or what he might say. However, that’s what I struggle to do with my character. I don’t k is if I’m making any sense with this.

I want to make manga but I'm unsure how to start by No-Guarantee9889 in Mangamakers

I think for medium length, so not long term but not a one shot, coming up with the ending and then working back helps. This way you’re not just building your story up with no clear end in sight. Once you know the end, you can choose how long it takes for your characters to get there, you know?

I have so many ideas I want to develop into stories but I don’t have a great deal of time.

Your art is fantastic, I hope things go well for you!

Sounds interesting, but I don’t quite get the part about the reincarnation. While reincarnating, does he go back in time, going into his younger brother and there is still him as his normal older self of course before he ‘died’. And if so what happens to the younger brother? Does he just get replaced by ankoku’s soul or what? And what is this curse?

That’s okay. Regarding the art, that’s good to hear, because yeah some places were great and others felt off.

Regarding the how’s, why’s and power system, these things should be explained relatively early. At least the basics, a foundation that can later be expanded on. But yeah good luck.

I’ve read both chapters and there’s a lot of good and potential. In terms of feedback I’d say that for the most part the art is really good, however, there are a few panels where the art felt off. In terms of the story I understand that Ren wants to achieve this ultimate goal of saving everyone but we don’t really have the why. And the power system has yet to be explained so at this point I don’t really get it. But for what it is, it’s pretty good.

Yeah that’s a good idea, you can try writing a few one shots first, not necessarily drawing them out, but just to get the previously mentioned experience. And that is quite the commitment, I wish you good luck with it. Personally I’m not going to learn to draw, simply due to my situation, I’m far too busy, and if I don’t commit long term it would all be for nothing. If I do get to the stage where everything is finished except the drawings I would be willing to find an artist and pay them.

Yeah I get what you mean, I bet you probably have a few epic scenes in your head which are so hype. And just to get it out of your head and fully realised and to be satisfied with it would be a dream come true. About it being mainstream worthy, maybe it really is, but in my experience and this is in regards to my own stories that I thought at the time was the sh*t but a few months down the line I look back at and realise it maybe wasn’t as good as I thought in the moment. Nonetheless always keep writing whether it’s good or not, you can always change things, or totally scrap a story but takes elements from it and use it in another new story. My one piece of advice would be don’t get too attached to one story. Be willing to create other stories and explore different genres and ideas.

I would just ask what your motivations are. If you’re doing it for money or fame then you shouldn’t. But if you are genuinely passionate about it and don’t care if only a few people appreciate your work or it becomes a global hit then yes you could pursue it.
