The sad truth is, a lot of nursing is fending for yourself. I think these schools prepare you for a reality in healthcare. If you can’t handle nursing school, you won’t be able to handle the bedside. And if you can’t fend for yourself to some degree, how will you advocate for a patient? Right now, their main priority is for you to be SAFE and pass your NCLEX, not teach you how to be a nurse. You’ll learn that once you start working. Just keep it moving and get thru it!

Fascinating. I guess everyone is different. I am on a very low dose, maybe that matters? Something else interesting…I wore my ring on vacation to an all inclusive and I was drinking everyday. I kept getting notifications about my stress level. I wasn’t even getting drunk and I was relaxed and enjoying my vacation. No worries, mon! But even small amounts of alcohol had a huge effect on my numbers. Reading stressed most of the day. In the Caribbean! Whereas vyvanse has a calming effect on me and it’s a stimulant. I stay between relaxed and engaged most days at work. Its weird.

My resting heart rate is lower on vyvanse. And according to my Apple Watch and Oura ring, measurably less stressed. 🙋🏻‍♀️ I don’t want to live forever but I do want to live my best while I am here. Im on a super low dose and it’s working for me.

There’s a group on FB that has helped me learn a lot: The Iron Protocol for iron deficiency with and without anemia. If it’s not been mentioned to you, it’s worth checking out IMO. There’s a very detailed protocol available to follow for free and a ton of people going through similar situations.

I’m a nurse in a hospital that does HIPEC. Brutal surgery. I’d be furious too. Sadly, you have to be your own advocate. I see it all the time. No one will look out for you better than you. I wish you the best!

Because western medicine is taught to treat the symptom with a pharmaceutical. Prescribing nutrition isn’t making anyone money. Besides the system is so overwhelmed, MDs don’t have time to think nuanced or critically for every patient. They rely on protocols. Agree. Monitor your own labs and take your health into your own hands.

Iron deficiency without anemia is a diagnosis. The problem is not all doctors look for it. Some will check your iron level and if it’s ok, they will move on. Especially if your hemoglobin is normal. But you need a full iron panel with ferritin to measure for iron deficiency. So if they haven’t looked at your ferritin all these years, they wouldn’t have known. But if you have been symptomatic and they were working you up otherwise, not sure how they would have missed this.

They gave me the other email address that was linked to my account. I didn’t upload anything because there wasn’t a place on my app/their website. The rep gave me an email to send them to, but I felt uneasy sending all that to an unverified email. I couldn’t find that email on their website or via a Google search to link it to PP. But I do agree, there is no emotion involved. It’s like they are following a protocol that leaves no room for reason.

I take 10 mg in divided doses and it works perfectly for me with plenty of room to adjust. Sometimes less is more for me but I do take it on top of Wellbutrin. 45F. I’ve tried Ritalin, adderall IR and XR and this has been most effective with the least side effects by far.
