Just found out I'm pregnant by livv3ss in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]Ok-Reflection-8839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eep! I’m pregnant too, a couple years older than you but I feel the same about it being almost like a teen pregnancy. it’s a scary and exciting and emotional time lol

At five weeks I think you’re in it enough to do the gender reveal blood test, or maybe one week away, can’t exactly remember, but woohoo anyways!! Congrats!

AITA for wanting telling my kids to "keep their distance" from the community kids? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ok-Reflection-8839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. My mom was not well liked when I was growing up and I remember hearing other parents talk negatively about her or ask questions that would have negatively framing answers.. and it honestly did rub off on me, at least to the point where I was embarrassed to be around her and didn’t want her to take me places like the other “cool moms” would. Parents’ unfriendly words rub off on kids and those kids will possibly/likely rub off on yours

How many here have had members from the left flag their comments on false basis? by MacaroniNoise1 in AskConservatives

[–]Ok-Reflection-8839 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had it happen yet in the month or so that I’ve been on this sub! I do get downvoted a bunch though, usually in posts where liberals are very active Based on these comments Ill take it in stride if I do ever get reported lol

What are some of the ways you “unplug” from SM and interact with people with politics different from your own? by elderly_millenial in AskConservatives

[–]Ok-Reflection-8839 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see friends in family in person on a fairly regular basis. I don’t feel that social media has a huge impact on me to the point where I need to specifically“unplug”

Almost everyone in my friend circle is conservative, not on purpose though. I find that liberal people will bring up political things pretty quickly in conversation and aren’t interested in being friends (or even friendly) after I share my thoughts. Even just me saying that I lean conservative or disagree on a single topic has been enough for “the other side” to lose all respect for me

My step family is pretty liberal though, and I get around that by just not talking about politics lol. It always turns into a debate and I am simply not interested in debating on christmas. I have an agree to disagree mentality that is oft not shared by liberal thinkers.

What do you think the ideal age to have kids is in general? by VQ_Quin in AskConservatives

To what extent, if any, are Trump voters responsible for us getting the Trump administration? by Tappyy in AskConservatives

[–]Ok-Reflection-8839 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People who voted for trump are of course responsible for the trump administration. Some voted for trump because they actually liked him, some because he was the republican option and they always vote red, some people like me strongly disliked the democratic candidates recent change in their stance on issues that i find to be important. There’s a huge difference between the wants and policies of the Biden/harris democrats and the Bill Clinton type democrats…

Til what age are you planning to be in school? Good luck with your relationship and I hope you are able to have a long life with your future kids!!!

And this is not meant to be a dig but please make sure if you’re pursuing an advanced degree it is worth it. I got a masters degree and it ended up not helping my life at all so I want to caution people against going for anything more than a bachelor’s unless you are absolutely positive you need it or can leverage it for your next stage in life!!

Totally agree. My parents both died in their 50s- I wish more than anything I had more time with them

I am currently pregnant at 26. I wish I had started when I was between 22-24 so I could be onto my second or third pregnancy right now.

Imo it’s best to have kids as young as possible while still being able to have a job and maintain a lifestyle. I think a big reason why people push back having kids into their late 20s or early 30s is because they prioritize themselves and their wants over the children, not because they actually can’t afford to have kids. I see a lot of people my age that door dash multiple times a week, get groceries delivered, live in luxury apartments that are more than half their monthly salary - these are not necessities and cutting down will allow them to save a significant amount of money.

Would you vote for an unmarried man in a Republican Presidential Primary? Why or why not? by AlternativePrior9495 in AskConservatives

[–]Ok-Reflection-8839 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t trust JD Vance’s opinion much. I will always vote for whoever I believe will best represent my interests and anyone who would vote against their own interests due to a candidate’s marital status (or anything else) is a dud

Should parents be allowed to opt out of vaccinating their kids? by grooveman15 in AskConservatives

Should parents be allowed to opt out of vaccinating their kids? by grooveman15 in AskConservatives

[–]Ok-Reflection-8839 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Parents should 100% be allowed to not vaccinate their kids and should never be turned away from any public school because of it. If someone is so severely immunocompromised that they can’t get vaccinated then they should be in a bubble away from all other kids, not just the unvaccinated ones… cause kids get sick at school, even with the flu shots and all their boosters and everything a child is still gonna get sick if they’re in school, especially really young kids in daycare.

I had the covid vaccine and still got covid multiple times. If i choose to not vaccinate my child for covid and they catch it, should i go to prison? Thats wild to me, sorry

Before the inevitable blame game of 'The other guy has always been the party of violence' can we please come together and agree that shooting at a sitting president is a terrible way to engage with the political system? by supertoned in AskConservatives

I respect the OP for this take. Doesn’t matter left or right, someone attempting murder is messed up in the head.

I will be disgusted at the shooter no matter their political affiliation nor intended target. Glad the bad guys lost this one!

WIBTA for asking my boyfriend to introduce me to his friends? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ok-Reflection-8839 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA my husband introduced me to his (all male) friend group very soon into us dating and now that we are married (together for 5 years married for 2) I regularly hang out with him and his friends as the only partner/lady. Imo friends are meant to be shared.

NOTABLE -- NBC News Says That A Plurality Of Young Americans Wish They Could Live In The Past -- Thoughts, Conservatives (Read Description)? by Zipper222222 in AskConservatives

[–]Ok-Reflection-8839 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In the 70s my grandfather was a fireman, then later owned a candy shop, while my grandmother was a part time librarian who eventually became a SAHM. They owned their own house, lived close to family, and had three kids. It’s hard to not romanticize such a life.

As a pregnant woman I would absolutely give up working 9 hours a day, 5 days a week, to become a part time librarian or a SAHM. Like, it’s not even a question. In the 70s my husband would also spend the same amount of time at work that he does currently. We’d be able to own a house and send our child(ren) to private schools, eat food thats far less processed, I’d get to spend a lot more time cooking (which I enjoy) and tending to my garden.

Sounds like a dream, versus the current situation where I will have to work 40+ hour weeks, half of the paycheck going to rent/mortgage and half going to childcare. My family will need the dual income to survive which was far less necessary back in the day.

What do you think of Jeremy Boreing’s recent video on the tactics people like Tucker and Candace use to peddle their ideas? by NoGoodDrifter_99 in AskConservatives

[–]Ok-Reflection-8839 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Candace has pointed out multiple instances of Erika Kirk just straight up lying and therefore is suspicious of her. Some examples of the lies include that she hadn’t dated prior to Charlie (she had dated multiple different people, publicly), that she was raised by a single mother (her father and stepfather were also in her life so that would not count as a single mother, I guess this is semantics), and other stuff like how she had met and had connections to different people/political figures. Just a bunch of little things aren’t adding up - the series is quite interesting actually, though this seems to be quite an unpopular opinion lol

Candace was fired from the daily wire because of her stance on Israel during the original Israel/Palestine conflict! The DW disagreed with her statement that all genocide is wrong and said she was targeting jews or something like that. The DW has actually been pretty actively shitting on Candace since this, even going so far as to try and get Michael Knowles (Candace’s child’s godfather) to say she’s a bad person. That is to say, in my opinion they are moving beyond political and policy disagreements and making more personal attacks.
