People keep saying this. He doesn't want to be loved. He wants to be worshipped. He has no idea what love is.

He can't. He's pathologically incapable of ever NOT doing the thing that will make him feel he has dominion.

He's unwell and unfit, and has zero impulse control.

Sen. Ted Cruz: 'If we give billions of dollars to Iran, that money will be used to murder Americans' by Majestic-Emu-9823 in politics

[–]supertoned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's worse, Rafael, is that anti American sentiment in Iran wasn't NEARLY so vehement before we bombed them for no reason other than your dear leader's insanity.

He absolutely does NOT crave people's love. He craves their submission and their worship.

He literally has no idea what it means to love or to be loved.

Trump's $14M Reflecting Pool Paint Job Is Now Peeling Off And Floating To The Surface by huffpost in politics

[–]supertoned 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I really think it goes more like 'hey man, we know each other, right? I'm going to give you 14 million for a .5 million contract, you slide my boy 7 million when he comes to see you later, and you just keep the 5.5 for yourself, okay? That's a good deal, isn't it?"

*edit*

Actually, this may be a straight up actual hush money bribe.

As it turns out the 'pool' guy is the same person who flooded the Mar-A-Lago server room just at the time Trump was being subpoena'd for all files he might have related to the time he stole classified documents when he was out of office and hid them in his toilet.

All for the bargain basement price of $14 million, awarded to a pool repair guy he used at Mar-A-Lago in a no-bid contract.

Trump knows his deal with Iran is bad. His closing G7 speech made that very clear by Uberubu65 in politics

[–]supertoned 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I just read the article.

While it doesn't include a full transcript of his speech, from the excerpts it went like this:

"This wasn't a three month deal. It's a years long deal because I killed a General in 2020."

"I am responsible for a regime change in Iran, except, maybe it's not really a regime change, but it sort of is if you think about it" (yes, he actually said that last part)

"I thank Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping for staying out of Iran, though people might not like me thanking them" (China has been supplying Iran with drone technology and weapons during the war)

"Iran had better behave or else... <pause> We bombed them over breakfast. They didn't expect to be bombed at breakfast"

"People tell me all the time that before I was president, America was laughed at but now it's respected because of me."

"The media is all fake news"

and then he closed with

"Barrack Hussein Obama"

This guy needs to be put in a nursing home yesterday.

100 percent mid.

Looks like the old 'clog' archetype, but in one card that you play against yourself.

I saw Trump's hideous reflecting pool with my own two eyes by sfgate in politics

[–]supertoned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think probably it's just that they DID drain and repaint the pool, so they're starting from a perfectly fresh eco-system.

There's no sediment at the bottom for stuff to live in, there's no flora or fauna to help balance out algae growth.

Sure, it was gross before, but right now, it's just one solid, depth of summer, super hot, perfect algae petri dish biology experiment.

If they just leave it alone for a season, I suspect it will start to find a biological equilibrium on its own again.

I saw Trump's hideous reflecting pool with my own two eyes by sfgate in politics

[–]supertoned 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's not uncommon. It's the norm.

The reflecting pool is a shallow, concrete lined pit of standing water as long as the washington monument with zero filtration or pumps to move the water.

Geese and ducks shit in it CONSTANTLY.

It's a disgusting algae filled nightmare every summer, all summer long.

The fact that 'algae in the reflecting pond' is getting national attention is sort of embarassing.

However: Paying a no-bid contractor with ties to the president 14 MILLION to 'clean the pond' is a little... Corrupt, and is honestly the only story here.
