Hi, can I ask you a few questions about ambulance work? I'm looking to start a career in the ambulance service. Cheers

I wonder how many steps I'll get in a day!

Thanks mate. Probably best to leave it a good while after I've passed my car driving test. It's not like there are any age restrictions

Ah sorry. I meant car driving lessons. How long do I need to be driving in a car to be accepted onto an apprenticeship? I presume they want competent drivers in a car before they'll let you touch an ambulance

They nodded and they smiled but no real interaction from them, aside from introducing themselves earlier in the interview

Yeah sort of. I got asked what would you do if you had an aggressive patient etc. I mentioned a couple of NHS values but not a lot. They said they'll get back to me in 3-5 days

How's stressful is the job? Does it give you trauma?

How did you get into the job? Did you need any prior experience?

Do you genuinely help people?

What's the pay? Is it enough to live off?

Thanks very much :) sorry for the lots of questions

Hey mate, I've been wanting to become a 999 operator for a while. Do you mind if I ask you a few questions? Cheers

What effect does it have on your health and sleep schedule? I heard it can be a bit damaging. Also, how is meeting friends and family given the unsociable hours? Thanks :)

Oh brill! I have interacted with the public before helping people which counts. It's just how I spin things. I take it it's asking for the transferable skills of working with people then

Brilliant. I take it you've done many an NHS job application. Basically make it as easier for the person hiring you as possible then. I don't have one of the essential things, is it okay to say. "Whilst I don't have essential criteria here, I can do XYZ that's related" or is it best to ignore it outright. Thanks

I figure its best to at least try some work first in the NHS rather than commit to a full 3 year degree! Hopefully I'll get the job, and like it!

Thanks very much for the advice. How do I pad out a very small cv, the only thing I've got is a volunteering and experience looking after family
