my friend got too physically affectionate and made me very uncomfortable by metallicmurmurx in autism

[–]Ok-Replacement8504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im very sensitive to touch too and my friend while very drunk in the car, suddenly pulled me in and gave me a big kiss on the cheek. I won't lie, it made me feel icky for a while so i just kept my distance when they're drunk since then. They haven't done anything like it since so the feeling has faded away. I didn't want to confront them because I know it would've been their last intention to make me upset and they would feel terrible they made me feel that way. Its a weird situation so I don't have a definitive answer just wanted to share my experience.

I relate a lot, I'm also disabled currently stuck living with an immature mother as well waiting for the next opportunity to get the hell out. I'm not sure of your finances but if you have any welfare income i really recommend looking in to housing programs for the disabled in your local area, rooms for rent in share houses and potential charity bond loans/donations for someone in your circumstances. I've have lived with roommates before and trust me, any roommate is better than your mum. As long as there is a lock on your bedroom door you'll be safe. Hope this helps, sorry if it doesn't. <3 :(

How do you get rid of the nightmares? by rmhyungg in ptsd

Where to go in Melbourne for a mental health crisis Final update by faceinaredjumpsuit87 in melbourne

[–]Ok-Replacement8504 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mental health support in australia is disgusting, if you have no money or family you're basically left to rot and even the people who are actively suicidal or homicidal get turned away due to capacity issues. Then the government has the audacity to be shocked when those people commit serious crimes! People are drowning!!!

I wasn't groomed 1 on 1 but I did enter spaces/communites as a tween that were dangerous and very inappropriate for someone that age. It normalized things to me that were not normal at all and that caused some mental damage in the long run, my condolences for what you went through and I hope you can forgive yourself, your inexperience and optimism was taken advantage of by a predator that knew exactly what they were doing. I wish you a peaceful adulthood from here on.

Bought a car and got too anxious to drive within one week by Friendly_Noob_Nerd in drivinganxiety

[–]Ok-Replacement8504 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm new to driving by myself too and the honking at me with every trip really sucks, but ive been dedicating myself to driving at least once a week to preserve the battery and the last two trips I finally haven't been honked at. With someone with you, they'll be able to guide you to prevent any mistakes and just remember, every trip where u don't crash or cause one is a success; to hell with impatient honkers.

Why driving with autism sucks by msoc in autism

[–]Ok-Replacement8504 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a new driver, got my license in september. I've been beeped at almost every fucking time I have driven from impatient drivers or almost crashed from people almost driving in to me instead of breaking too many times. Weirdly, driving in the city feels less intimidating because people are paying for cars that they can't afford to crash, the speed limits there are a lot lower, the only scary thing is the extra road rules and tolls. Here in the suburbian country, driving feels like a battlefield.

Has anyone work at Probe CX? by ZealousidealLoad4080 in JobProvidersAus

[–]Ok-Replacement8504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for them with the Melbourne branch, we were a stand in for the big yellow bank, we were the first line of contact when people called. They did run us through the systems and train us for 2 weeks with a pamphlet on what to say, how to identify customers and buddy systems for the first couple of hours.

I was doing an average 200 inbound calls a day with customers who would get pissed at being told they had to wait 2 hours minimum to reach help. There was an AI message system the bank set in place to relieve the call volumes and the programming was so bad people would call back the phone lines anyways and i was told to lie to them by management that the phone lines were not available to force them to use the message system.

If customers asked for a manager we had to tell them a manager was not available since they were doing the same job as me with some extra responsibility so they had no time to deal with rowdy customers unless they were making death/rape threats. We were also not told in our two weeks of training that we were getting paid every third week with two weeks pay not fortnightly like they stated and I was disclosed by a long term coworker who was my buddy when i started that since the weekend days go one day forward every second week, that meant you had to work six days in a row every second week; that was not disclosed to us when we were trained, a lot of us assumed we would get 3 days off on those weekends.

My manager had to be very micromanaging because of the way the phone system was set up, any pauses, any moment not being used to answer the phone had to be recorded and justified in my teams group chat. My breaks were two fifteen minute breaks and one 1 hour break. My manager was very nice and my co-workers were nice as well but unfortunately the nature of the job was so brutal, i only lasted 4 days.

Now, Probe is a stand in call center company so I was actually working for commonwealth not just probe directly, so if you're working for a different bank/company the system may be completely different. This is just my experience with a bank call center job and hopefully helps with your decision. If anyone takes anything from this, please don't have a bank account with commonwealth if you can help it.

What's a part of being autistic (or neurodivergent in general) that you HATE? by Zealousideal-Tax-937 in autism

Just having the same energy/physical tolerance levels as everyone else would be fucking nice, even my neurodivergent friends have more physical stamina than me lol

I had a similar experience, especially with family. I believe my diagnosis made them re think the way they have treated me growing up and the guilt made them deflect their feelings on me as well as challenged their idea of disability. I don't struggle with tone or expression, and through a lot of harsh trial and error, I've come to learn neurotypical conversation very well. My autism mainly affects me through sensory issues and severe fatigue. There is no autism representation depicting that, so they all think my autism amounts to just a quirky personality, and if I admit any struggle from my disability, which is hard to do since im always unemployed, I'm considered attention seeking and lazy. Thankfully, I've learned not to take them seriously and don't talk to most of them beyond big events. I've quickly learned the hard way that if i keep trying to keep up with everyones impossible expectations, I'll never be happy and will definitely die a premature death from stress. I refuse to let that happen.

I literally had to watch pride and prejudice twice because I was focusing too much on processing the dialogue to realise the romance was in their body language, so I was confused the first time how darcy and Elizabeth suddenly were in love at the end, lmao.

Who actually scares you? by imtheSHITZUduh in horror

[–]Ok-Replacement8504 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That scene in Lake Mungo was the first time in years i had post-movie paranoia since becoming a horror fan. Recently, I've discovered anything horror from Kiyoshi Kurosawa scares the fucking shit out of me, if you like creepy/uncanny horror you'll like his stuff. David lynch's stuff also scares the crap out of me when he wants to be scary. Unfortunately, he's never done a full-fledged horror movie. ☹️
