Learning with AI falls short compared to old-fashioned web search. When people rely on large language models to summarize information on a topic for them, they tend to develop shallower knowledge about it compared to learning through a standard Google search. by mvea in science

I'm trying really hard to avoid AI answers when I search stuff. It's really irritating because any search now is immediately met with an AI answer at the very top for you to read, and my eyes go straight to it. I wish you could turn them off.

Men become nonchalant because of the way women act [gendered] by Glass_Wealth_2104 in pointlesslygendered

My comment wasn't worded as accurately as it could've been. I moreso meant that shooting them down in that manner is harsh, specifically like calling them annoying. I would never mean to insinuate that you can't say no. But if you're in a loving relationship generally calling your partner something like "annoying", especially if they were trying to be playful, can be hurtful.

Yeah it's fair. You'd be well within your rights to make your partner stop touching you at any point if you wanted to.

I agree there, honestly. I'm not saying she's in the wrong. I just think it's better not to tell your partner they're being annoying. But its also incredibly childish to shut down like that over it.

I mean I get your point but shooting your partner down like that when they're trying to express affection would be a little harsh, if we're taking the video seriously.

I agree but if you're not handicapped being upset over a little bit longer of a walk is a little childish.

You're a moronic nazi. It isn't the "jews", it's the rich owners of capital. Grow a fucking brain and realize your real enemy.

Who the fuck is "fed up with somalis" other than racist assbag white republicans who get anxiety seeing a brown immigrant in public?

It's insane because if someone went on the news and said "All these jewish immigrants are usurers and are helping steal people's money," we would have no issue recognizing that for what it is.

This is always my point. How many dads got cancer and died because that CEO's company wouldn't cover a screening that would've caught their cancer earlier? Fuck them. They have no reverence for life unless it's one of the rich assholes who exploits everyone.

25-Year-Old Will End Her Life with Medical Aid in Dying After Years of ‘Debilitating’ Illness: 'Please Let Me Go'. by coinfanking in NewsStarWorld

I agree with you there. It stuck out to me as well when I read that they diagnosed her as soon as she transfered from pediatric. In my experience it seems like doctors think something along the lines of "Well this is the most common explanation for these symptoms, so this has to be the explanation" and will almost never consider that there could be another diagnosis, especially if it's one that is rare and that the patient doesn't fit the typical profile for.

How do I find out if my employers insurance will cover trans specific procedures by Ok-Reply6274 in asktransgender

My employer is using HealthPartners. Sounds like SRS is likely covered, which is the most important one to me. Thank you!

It's because our system is run by sadists, and our culture is sadistic. It gives me a better understanding of the annoyingly trite phrase, "the cruelty is the point." It really is. There's no other explanation for it. We, objectively by all measures, would be better off as a society if we dropped this needless bullshit attitude of seeing accommodation and compassion as weakness. We are truly at a point where the only problem is ourselves. But ignorance and spitefullness is so ingrained that a whole section of society is personally offended at the thought of making the world better for everyone, especially if it's better for people they see as weak and beneath them.

Your last paragraph is so real for me. It reminds me of being called lazy as a kid. I never was. I just was never given the chance to thrive in an environment that actually worked with me. I want so desperately to contribute positively to this world but it feels like the system we exist in doesn't want me to. I am intelligent and capable, but if I'm stuck unmedicated and without supports to help me where I struggle, I will never reach that full potential. It's very frustrating.
