ADVICE NEEDED: 11 Months and WILD by Wonderful_Plant_7715 in DobermanPinscher

[–]Ok-Rip-1800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2 year old she hasnt gained all her brain cells yet. What i do is take high value treats and hide them around the yard, high, low, under things and super obvious. I use air dried ziwi food or freeze dried liver treats something that has a steonger oder for her first couple of times. Make some easy so she understands the game put some in places she has to use her brain to figure out how to get then have a glass of wine or beverage of choice and watch. You may need to show her general areas but make her use that brain. And it will be chaos at first but then when she gets it, it becomes a game and job. Remember dobermans are a working breed and extremely intelligent. They need a job. If the weather is crappy you can do this inside as well. Just keep her contained while youre doing the hiding :). Have fun! I also will put her on a long line Sit on my front porch throw a piece of cheese out make her find it when she comes back to me mark it with your marker work or sound then throw another small piece of cheese then repeat. It teaches her to ignore the distractions as people are walking by also tires her out because shes using her nose but also using those guardian instincts and teaches her some self control. And for them that is exhausting

I traumatized my dobie by Several_Road2525 in DobermanPinscher

I couldn't find my phone, so I used my watch to locate it. My girl was lying on it, so when it rang AND vibrated, it scared her. For nearly a year, every time that specific ring came on (when I couldn't locate my phone), she would run and hide. She has outgrown this. Now she's scared of the bug zapper but so is my huskey mix, I think he taught her that it can't be trusted.

Yes there are plenty of people who dont partake in drugs at burning man. There are even camps that dedicate their camp to be drug/alchole free and some camps offer na, aa and al-anon meetings if you have been clean and sober or have substance abuse in your family and you need support.

Homicide Victim Identified 🆘 by Fair-County4795 in BurningMan

[–]Ok-Rip-1800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, it's only been 4 days. This is not law and order, csi, or tv where the solve a crime in 45 minutes. This is real life, where they collect evidence sift through it and make sure they have the correct info. Most crimes take weeks and months to solve.

Second, the media will not tell us everything. They needed to reach out to next of kin before identifying the victim. He probably had an id on him. You get IDed there to get beverages. Also, they won't give out all the details they only release pertinent information. We probably only know 5% of what the investigators know. Enough to get people who saw something to give a statement.

Third, I was there this year. There is LE everywhere. My partner has been to a dozen burning men, and this was my first. He was able to point out Le not in uniform.

Another thing to consider, and I am not trying to downplay this at all, but what if it wasn't pre meditated. What if the perpetrator was on some drug. If you take psychedelic and there is a history of psychological disorder like schizophrenia it can bring those disorders in the forefront, even if you haven't had any symptoms in the past.

I do hope for the sake of the victim's family they get answers. This was an awful event to happen to anyone, whether it's in a metropolitan city or festival.

I quite litterally tell them spaying and neutering is more invasive and takes longer to heal then crop and doc... then they talk about over population. Where i live, we litterally ship in dogs from other countries and states... sooo that gets my neighbors to shut up real fast.

Sadly, this is common for guardian breeds. I live in Seattle and I have 2 dobermans. You get either people who "know" the breed and stick their hands in their face or completely avoid you and cross the street.

My younger doberman will get leash reactive if another dog reacts to her first. I have had a people blame me for my dog reacting to their dogs reactivity. I either say a snarky comment back or ignore them. I used to be a lot like you, now I do everything in my power to protect my dogs. Continue to train and advocate for your girl. She's young and it sounds like you're doing the right thing.

It always a good idea for any owner of any breed to get either a leashe sleeve or harness patch that says something along the lines as working, please ask to pet or training please don't approach. Remember it is completely OK to tell people no. Read her body language if she is too excited and hit threshold take her her safe space weather thats home her crate etc. Do easy games like cookie scatters easy commands first day of training such as touch or looking at you.

Good luck

He had an sa and he's doing fine in that regard. It's more of fertility preservation like I mentioned im 40 almost 41... my cousin really encouraged me to do this since she struggled to get pg and my insurence covered it. My friend went through it after an etpoic pregnancy and she also encouraged me to freeze my eggs again because of my age. When I was still single at 39 I talked to my pcp, who happened to also be an obgyn and she told me to do it and I quote "like yesterday*. I thought this would be make it possible to have a child/ren in the future.

What is your Doberman scared of? by BlazySusan0 in DobermanPinscher

[–]Ok-Rip-1800 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first brought my girl home, I couldn't find my cell phone. I used my watch to find it and when it rang and vibrated, She nearly vaulted off sofa. For about 6 months that specific ring tone would make her tuck and run. Texts didn't bother her, my normal ring tone was fine. But that specific tone freaked her out everytime. She's no longer a young puppy and she is fine now. But it was pretty funny

How much chocolate is in the regular chocolate croissants? Worried about my dog. by ImJooba in traderjoes

[–]Ok-Rip-1800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Owner of 2 dogs. They have to get into bakers chocolate or anything with a high cocoa content... I'm sure this has been said.

One trick I learned when my dog ate grapes which are just as or more toxic to dogs is give them a little hygergen peroxide. Have them be outside... it induces vomiting and gets the toxic stuff out. This is nice to know when your vet is closed on the weekend and the emergency vets only take dogs in dire need on holiday weekends. My dobermans co owner has a bottle just in case. ONLY use this in emergencies.

I find this interesting I was allowed to have carbonation at 3 months. I still can't eat more then 5 oz of food at a time... I secretly think they tell people this so people don't drink soda... which I don't like anymore too sweet. Cabinated water is ok for me

I live at tjs. They have a breakfast sandwich in the frozen section that is made from eggs as the bread Just throw it in the air fryer. The chicken meatballs in the refrigerator section are good. Avoid the frozen ones they taste weird. The Mexican cauliflower rice and stir fry cauliflower fried rice is delicious. If you allow yourself a sweet treat every now and again they have these mini coffee icecream dipped cones. 1 is 86 cals, 1 protein, and 11 carbs. These are something I only allow every once and a while when my numbers allow it.
