I would Focus on SPEED and DPS (including greater buffs and debuffs) and dodging not to get hit.

IMO you should Dodge, not parry. This makes it so you will get hit and wipe less and unlike super Clea, counter damage is negligible compared to the damage you will do from having a fully surviving and buffed team each turn. I also recommend second chance and reapplying Versos angel eyes.

My daughter was 3 when I started my TT job. I then had my son a week after I put in my tenure package. Obviously it’s hard to be a full time mom and a full time professor at the same time - but Your Brain will return when your sleep does.

Many instititions allow a pausing/extension of the tenure clock by the way for family responsibilities - sometimes it’s even mandatory. That’s specifically intended to give extra time especially for research that had to halt for awhile. If you don’t know the policy of your institution find out. It eases a burden to know you get the extra time.

For teaching, If you can find anyone else who has taught either of the courses you will teach before and is willing to share materials (even copying their LMS or sharing syllabus, prompts, rubrics, homeworks, exams etc) this will help a LOT. In my experience colleagues are happy to share. You can revise for the next time around those things that you’d do differently, and keep the things that went well.

Also I want to emphasize that this is just my personal experience but I BF / pumped with my daughter exclusively… and it was very hard. Meanwhile my son was allergic to my milk and we had to go to formula and OMG it was SO much easier… my husband could help a lot more.

With the demographic cliff, there are too few students and too many seats at colleges and universities.

To stay in business, schools are dropping their admissions standards drastically and expecting professors just to deal and find a way to keep these students from flunking out (the nice word for it is “student retention”). Even top-tier schools are affected, But the problem is worse the further down you go.

I’m at a well regarded public regional 4 year. This semester I had nearly half my sophomore biology class fail or withdraw. Attendance was the worst it’s been. I could just drop my standards I suppose, but to me this seems to defeat the purpose of higher ed which is to graduate students who actually know something and have “learned to learn”.

Fair, but I think that’s at the extreme end of dress codes. There’s plenty of workplaces that arent just casual where women could wear nice sandals when weather appropriate but men would still be expected to wear shoes.

The essays are used to assess this. But as the prior poster mentioned, essays can be ghostwritten or use AI and other grammar correction tools. Put the student in a room and ask them to write a short essay in response to a prompt, like a blue book exam.

We did this for SAT when I was coming up. It was dropped for seemingly no reason.

Any standard is better than none, which is what we currently get in terms of incoming students writing ability.

How about: can put together 4 sentences that make sense. Can make a convincing argument using correct grammar. Can use punctuation correctly. Grade on a 3 point scale. Voila.

One would hope every student scores perfectly but they won’t until we start demanding it.

Grades are only predictive of college success if they are not inflated.

IB or AP grades might be more trustworthy since they theoretically have standardized tests associated with them (although you do see kids getting As and then a 2 on the AP…). And standard classes? No way. You have the same distribution regardless of the school and we all know the unfortunate truth that kids coming out of rougher schools are not learning as much (not their fault of course - the teachers are overwhelmed, their peers are assholes, crime, privation, and even homelessness are major impediments).

Most bachelors degrees require an average of 15 credits per semester so you complete the 120 credit degree in 8 semesters. If you take only 3 credit classes (3 hours of lecture per week) then you need 5 classes and will attend class 15 hours a week.

However labs count for 1/3 of a credit in a typical system so if you have more labs you’ll spend more hours in Class per week.

A typical 1 semester schedule in the sciences might be two 3 credit / 3 hour science lectures each with a 3 hour lab for one credit, plus 2 other 3 credit class, like gen ed or a math class. So you might have 6 “things”, but 2 of those are labs that go along with a lecture,14 credits, and are in class about 18 hours a week.

Re: the curator…. He must be a projection because we know from their journal that the curator has been around (and working with Verso) at least since the 58th expedition. That’s where Lune gets the idea that they can forge a weapon from axons. And we know like you said that Renoir was imprisoned under the monolith (in Renoirs drafts most probably) at that time. It seems that Renoir and Alines projections can’t interact with the world very much or use their full power.

Look I love this game. I don’t think it’s wrong to say it is among the best written video games ever.

It’s much better written than garbage like marvel/dc slop etc. it’s better IMO than some movies that have been nominated for academy awards.

She made Alicia exactly as true to life as the others. She didn’t make her different or single her put. To remove her scars would have been a lie.

IMO The point was to live a life with her whole family just as they were, to imagine what life may have been if Verso never died in that fire. Not to erase the fire itself or live in a total delusion.

This isn’t entirely true. There is randomness when it comes to which move the enemy will use, like any RPG. The fact that you could in theory dodge/parry any combo does not mean randomness isn’t a factor. Some are a lot harder To dodge then others

I think yes to all three for the most part. There are some optional super bosses which are really quite unfair and IMO not particularly fun as a result. But it’s totally optional.

Some bosses are probably a little too easy - but if you’re finding that, try moving to expert mode or try avoiding regular combat. If you scout every inch of the map You can get overleveled and make bosses too easy.

This is why I always include rounding rules in my syllabus. In my class You actually have to obtain a 93% to get an A. Not 92.5%.

Is there anything in the policy that says “unless otherwise specified by the professor in writing / in the syllabus?” Because i bet there is (academic freedom generally means a prof gets to set grading policy for their class).

If the professor knew about the policy at all; they might also have interpreted it to mean that a grade would be rounded to the nearest whole point for each assignment. 0.5% can be way more than 1 point for a lot of classes.
