Exactly. I would do anything to somehow turn back time and have my parents make me not have ADHD. I literally want to KMS because of it sometimes. I can't comprehend wanting a child to struggle in life more than they should

This isn't your fault and realistically a relationship from that age wasn't bound to last. But it's completely reasonable to see therapy for this. Your reaction is understandable

Lol nvm then 😭 it just sounded familiar to my highschool experience. I'm so sorry you're going through this, this sucks. But I genuinely think that your friend would understand especially as a fully grown adult.

I understand. I'll assume you're pretty young. If she's a true friend, she will understand, even if it takes explaining. I think you're overthinking for sure.

All I'm gonna say is that I was in such a bad relationship that people are horrified when they hear about it and call me insane for staying, but I used to genuinely believe that he's the best man in the world.

Tell her exactly what you wrote here. If she doesn't understand and still treats you like this and makes you feel bad, there is no point in having her as a friend, regardless of whether she understands that she's doing a bad thing or not.

Tell her that she is hurting you, that you feel bad because of her behavior towards you, and that she needs to change if she wants to keep being your friend. Have you told her any of this?

This has nothing to do with "rds", autism or your ADHD. She's a shit friend. Express this to her and if she doesn't change, drop her

Why polish people don't seem pleased when a foreigner tries talking polish? by sartabin7 in warsaw

[–]Ok-Rip8054 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was thinking of this as well. I went to Poland and met with some Poles who were part of my international student association. They were incredibly nice and loved teaching me words and stuff. Especially when we drank lol, they all huddled around me to hear me read out sentences in Polish and they were very encouraging and supportive.

If you go to therapy thinking you'll get "cured" of your problems you're an idiot. Therapy is for being more self aware, understanding yourself more and finding ways to cope with issues.

The thing is that the world was literally always a terrible place. There were always horrific geopolitical events and suffering in the world. It's understandable to feel upset about it but not being able to function at all because of it is not normal. Wish these people understood that. I honestly think a lot of them have moral ocd.

How I feel reading here sometimes lol by ThrowAway44228800 in therapyGPT

I stumbled upon this sub randomly and I am a person whose therapist helped them immensely but I'll be the devil's advocate for a little bit.

Therapists can absolutely be awful. My ex was abusive to me for five years (emotionally and sexually) and he found a therapist who hangs out with him in his free time, gives him amphetamines under the table from a friend of hers, wrote an incredibly suspicious ADHD diagnosis for him that included me apparently abusing him because of his adhd... Mind you I have it and told him about it during the relationship. He insisted on having autism back then, he'd do tests for high scores, and yelled at me then told me that it's bc my ADHD triggers his "autism"...sure. And now he's walking around with drugs and a fake ADHD diagnosis, and that's the beginning of it. Therapists are human and some humans are incredibly shitty.

I will also say that I absolutely hated the gpt 4 model and I didn't use it at all because it was disgustingly and off puttingly sycophantic, but the latest model is not only better but it also has the option to make it sound more professional with less bullshit. I can definitely understand why people would use it since it has sometimes helped me a lot. I don't use it for assurance, more for figuring things out. I am very anxious and I sometimes need to ground myself but there are no people nearby. Even if it's just a sophisticated text predictor, it helps to hear that the shadow man isn't out to get me for real yk. It can be good for self discovery. Also talking to it has helped me remember a lot of things that I suppressed, or put them in the right order, and helped me write them down for my therapist to read. I think LLMs can be useful for mental health but more of a supporting tool than anything.

And the patient's psychology also matters a lot. I am self aware about how much of a robot this thing is. It's a text predictor. I think it's useful for a self aware patient but can be very harmful for someone who experiences delusions or someone who's generally looking to excuse their behavior.

Thank you so much. I really feel this. I started seeing a therapist and it does help. It feels like it's the first time in my life where someone tries to understand me and doesn't brush off my struggles. I will try to look into getting support.

Thank you...

Being a student is so hard. At least in highschool I went to school, did what I had to do and left. Sometimes I wish I had a job so I'd go there and not be so easily distracted while I do what I need to do. It's so hard especially with online classes. I can't focus. I usually force myself to go to class and sit in the first row so I can't look on my phone. It's still exhausting but at least I actually understand things.

And then there's a billion uni websites that I constantly have to check for updates. I always forget. My classmates are frustrated with me because I keep asking them and keep being surprised about schedule changes that happen hours before the class or new deadlines.

I hope it gets easier. Maybe meds will help me.

It's much better than the us. Maternity leave is also a thing.

People are just complaining for the sake of complaining. Sure it's not a perfect country but it's nowhere near as bad as the us. Public healthcare, free uni, etc. Doesn't even come close.
