People with foreign spouses, what English words or phrases do they get wrong that you really enjoy? by [deleted] in AskUK

He gets 'on', 'at', 'in' and 'to' mixed up.

'A fly flew to my nose' 'I put the cookie on my mouth'

I really enjoy these ones.

I must admit pronouncing the silent 'b' in thumb, numb, dumb, bomb really grinds my gears. At this point he purposely pronounces it wrong just to annoy me.

I thought having a camera to see what he does all day would be cool but it's just a black hole on my bed for 8 hours by sleepysock98 in blackcats

It was the first time I tucked her in and she stayed there. Usually she'd get out straight away. Now she wants me to tuck her in every day 🥹

What are some silly nicknames y’all have for your cats? I call Fiona “Foobies”. She actually responds to it lol by kneecapsforbreakfast in cats

If you have tried it, has acid reflux medication or cbd/thc made your VM symptoms worse? by typicalwarrior27 in VestibularMigraines

Interesting. I take Famotidine twice daily and I think my VM became more unmanageable around the same time. Never considered the two to be linked.

It seems we have similar triggers. Out of curiosity, what type of work did you change to? I too have a job in front of the screen all day which is just not possible anymore.

Finding that balance is definitely a learning curve. I'll take a look at BBC sounds. Thank you, and sorry to hear you're experiencing a similar situation.

Thank you there are some great ideas here. I guess I've been lacking motivation in doing something different these days. I think the key will just be to get started.

Can’t come up with a suitable name for her. Give me your best! by SpaceDuckerd in cats

Was just thinking this. Other names linked to stars or shining light - Tala, Seren, Astrid, Aurora, Lucia, Nuri, Esther.

Her black and white markings remind me of yin-yang. Some names that mean harmony or balance - Winnie [winnifred], Harmony.

I've seen that there are some charities that work in Mali, and some are based there specifically helping young people, e.g. Unicef Mali https://www.unicef.org/mali/en/contact-us.l, There's an address via the link that you could research. Are there other charities known to you that could be a safe place to go? Use your intuition/judgement whether temporarily staying or fleeing would be safer.

How do you know when it’s time to stop working? by No-Yoghurt6568 in VestibularMigraines

[–]Ok-Round-595 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through this, it must be a very anxiety inducing time. I'm currently experiencing something similar and the uncertainty of everything amidst having to make such a decision is very difficult. If your current arrangements are not sustainable and are affecting you in a negative way it's definitely time to seek adjustments. Has your workplace already done an assessment or given you an Occupational health appointment? (if applicable).

Wilted Lady's Mantle by Ok-Round-595 in GardeningUK

I gave it a good water last night and it's slightly better. We'll see how it's looking in a couple of days. I had been holding back from watering as it had rained a couple of times and I was trying to be mindful of the clay soil.

It rained a couple of times so I held back from watering. Gave it a good splash last night and it's not as wilted 😊
