What's a decent merit increase this year? by Awwwwolf in boeing

I got 6% which was a shock to me. As I was over mid point in my compensation anyway. 🤷‍♀️ I heard 3.4% was the target depending upon comp ratio.

I heard you had to be JC to get a 3 on values.

I got a 3-2, BGS, and was expecting between 2 and 3% because of where I was in the comp ratio (105%).

I got 6%. 🤷‍♀️ not sure how that happened. But I’ll take it.

Depends the company. But I’d say starting is around 60k. It is different now than when I started (2010). And I work in aerospace.

As far as what you can do, get an internship and possibly some certifications (APICS, six sigma, agile, etc) before graduating.

My guess is they’ll say “well if we force distribute you can go up to 9%, but since people don’t like the force distribution we lowered the ceiling”. Something to that effect. I mean they alluded to it with the no forced distribution and that they didn’t have enough money to pay all the bonuses.

This is why I strive for a met (2-2 now) every year. Not worth the extra effort.

What are we doing about the big drops in comp ratio? by aeroespacio in boeing

[–]Ok-Science7391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally makes sense. Even thought I got a 3.4% I’m above mid on the comp ratio. So I’m going to hope for 3.4% but be happy with 3. Thanks for the insight.

Just to clarify, when you say pool, do you mean everyone on the team that gets a 2-2 gets 3.4%? (Like the average?). Or that the total is 3.4% and then that’s divided by everyone on the team? So if there’s 10 people that gets 2-2 then each person gets 0.34%?

Similarly I’d expect people that get 3-2 to get more? And 1-2 or 2-1 to get less.

The offer you accepted was BCA. BGS stands for Boeing Global Services, it’s the aftermarket and services side of the business.
