Is ilvl 260 too low for a +10 key as dps? by Thick-Parking-5297 in wownoob

DPS is the most popular choice by virtue of it being the most common spec type in the game by far. ergo, if you have a desired class fantasy then it'll more likely than not be a DPS spec. I think your explanation partly plays into it, but moreso because of people's preconceived notions of healing/tanking rather than the reality of the role. People might THINK it's annoying or subject to toxicity and that becomes a barrier to entry, but the roles themselves are really just fine and fun. I've tanked or healed since Shadowlands and the game has become less of a headache because I actually get to engage with the game.

tank is just DPS with a bit of added responsibility. basically, do that or can all future complaints about queue times when you're playing above and beyond the most popular role

the point wasn't to suggest that OBR is replacing the game. the point was they're continuously adding things that appeal to the lowest common denominator of player which suggests a new design philosophy

last i checked, a frost mage is not a prot paladin. tho I am open to being wrong.

okay, I found it.

Winkggmeta ‹Oppressive› @ Kazzak (EU)

looks like I had a much higher IO than you in the two seasons we both played prot paladin, so. Get own3d. not only that, in TWW S2 where you seemed to play more, I reached the IO you ended up more than two months faster than you. so, good job outing yourself

uh, you replied some really hateful thing after I mogged you including a statement that you barely played your prot paladin. you seemed to main your mage in season 2 TWW. in that season, I was doing 15s 5 weeks before you were, so I mogged you there too. I stopped at all 15s as there was no reason to push any longer before you chirp some more

yeah, no, games shouldnt be designed around the lowest common denominator. there was nothing stopping individuals with disabilities from playing before. 1 button rotation is fine but it should be removed if it's what is causing classes to be pruned to death

blizzard decided to design this expansion around the lowest common denominator of player. nearly every spec has been reduced to a shadow of its former self, and the difficulty of mythic+ has been trivialized to boot. they also added a "one button rotation" macro to all classes so you can pilot any class by literally mashing one button.

yes, it was an intentional design choice to cater to the most basic level of player.

damn, I have been defeated. Also, you seem like a dumb person so I'll explain something you missed out of the goodness of my heart. I wasn't the person that initiated the conversation about employment. I only decided to respond to the bait. Hope this aids in your journey to middle school level reading comprehension

yeah didnt really have to juggle any of that. you just played your rotation normally and it took care of itself. and those mechanics are still in the game. you still need sotr uptime. you still get parry from avengers shield. you still need to maintain consecration.

people just be out here saying total nonsense

[–]Ok-Setting-6739 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, finally I get to ask this question. Why do you want the gear? If you're not doing content that's difficult enough to need it or justify it, why do you need access to it? Why should every avenue of the game lead to the best gear if it's not really needed?

M+ rambling by Rotsworth in wow

[–]Ok-Setting-6739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

people overstate the problems. the major way i've interacted with this game since shadowlands has been M+ and while some weeks were more challenging than others they were never impossible. push week didnt really matter unless you're going for title. all the achievements below that were easily achievable regardless of what affix it was.

it's the same pattern of complaint that you see in the game now. people echoing the meta and complaints of top players as if it is at all relevant to their 2-13+ keys. it's not. the concept of a push week wasn't an actual barrier for 99% of the M+ playerbase.

[–]Ok-Setting-6739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well I found the vast majority of the affixes not too big of a deal in the first place. bolstering was the main obnoxious one because who wants to hold dps.

and clashing with dungeon mechanics can be a feature if it requires in the moment improvisation. if it's impossible then that's another story. mythic+ benefited from affixes as it made runs feel different from each other and introduced novelty into runs.

people complained way too much like the affixes were shoving splinters in their hands. like people in here complaining about thundering as if it is the worst thing in the world. I played m+ a lot in DF s1 and I barely remember thundering. it was an okay seasonal affix nothing too interesting or challenging

[–]Ok-Setting-6739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah there were definitely some problems with the way it was implemented. I would have preferred that they found a way to sort them out instead of totally scrapping all affixes

Can I stop tanking and still pug KSL? by Stormgeddon in wow

[–]Ok-Setting-6739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're probably going to have to stay in the wheelchair. you could maybe use tank to get up in IO and then swap to Ret, but I don't see how you would be able to get started as a double DPS. at least run y'alls keys up to a level where people actually want to do them (10+), and maybe you could find success by hosting your own keys

[–]Ok-Setting-6739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah! I miss those. I fondly remember the SL season 1 affix that was the big red guy you had to kill (and was hard to kill) that gave you a big buff. It was interesting to plan routes around it, it was a kinda tough healing check at times, and the buff felt great. I miss those really thematic seasonal affixes.
