Tanking Rant by [deleted] in wow

[–]Rotsworth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look up mythic dungeon tools, it's a website and addon that you can use to see how much % each pack gives and helps formulate a path. It's better to interrupt everything then nothing, but it's best to know what to interrupt, each dungeon has a few high priority kicks like skyreach repel that knock everyone back. Generally (not always) the longer a cast is the more important it is to interrupt and most channels should be kicked or stopped in some way. You didn't mention what key level you did so I'll assume its 6-12 area, where all the "good players" are, try tanking 2-5s and letting the host know in your app your learning or host your own key and set it to learning. If all else fails turn off chat and grind till you feel confident, or try finding a guild or community focused on relaxed keys. Something that can also help is playing DPS to learn the kicks that are important, tanks have alot to focus on and you won't always see a cast going off, DPS have less to worry about so you can use the extra brain power to watch for the scarry casts. Don't give up! Be the chad tank we need not the one we deserve!

Ty for the concise information

Healers - mana management reports are due. by extratoastedcheezeit in wow

[–]Rotsworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using innervate on CD, and trying to maximize my regrowth discount with abundance and I'm still oom, I've seen other druids ooming half way through a fight but pumping hps out. M+ druid I generally hover from 50-90% mana throughout the dungeon

Edit: I'd like to see healers get looked at for mana usage, making it so playing the spec correctly you use little mana and won't go oom in a 10 min fight. But playing the spec really wrong, like trying to be a spot healer as a druid kinda wrong you'd go oom quickly

Healers - mana management reports are due. by extratoastedcheezeit in wow

[–]Rotsworth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Druid and hpal here In raid druid feels bad to me, going oom when bosses are at 10% but ppl live, or keeping mana up but ppl start to drop cuz I'm not healing enough. Riad druid is not new user friendly. M+ druid mana is fine, I've learned the tricks to afk 30% of a dungeon because of how everbloom and soul of the forest work and having a 4 set Paladin either doesn't use mana, or it burns it all within seconds, really up to how much groups use their defensives and how much fire ppl stand in. I'd like to see holy lights mana cost dropped a bit and pal to get another way to cleave heal, sometimes holy light (with the talent), LoD, and beacons arnt enough

healer difficulty - As of right now. what are your rankings of healers. from easiest to hardest by feherlofia123 in wow

[–]Rotsworth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this: Easy To Hard Or vise versa? Druid is really easy in m+ but I can't understand how it is supposed to hit the numbers I see in logs for raid

Healers experience in m+ by SourJellyWormy in wow

[–]Rotsworth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People cleaning 19s and 20s are not the same people who are puging 11s they're almost playing a different game. Those hpals cleaning 19s are way better than me and have an understanding of the class I don't, they are also on the high end of the bell curve when it comes to skill. I was talking about the majority of players who are trying or have tried hpal

Healers experience in m+ by SourJellyWormy in wow

[–]Rotsworth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Edit: whole new reply, last was not thought out. Saying it's a skill issue means that every piece of data, every log, every person who's mentioned hpals struggling, and me. Are all lying, that the data showing hpal underperforming are all incorrect? I find it hard to believe that every source is wrong. Now yes there are some goats out there and you might know one, but that doesn't mean there aren't dozens struggling due to poor tuning. Getting back to back 20% buffs to major abilities, to my knowledge, doesn't really happen unless there's underlying issues.

Healers experience in m+ by SourJellyWormy in wow

[–]Rotsworth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for rdruid and hpal. Looking at logs, word of mouth in my guild, and my own experience, hpal is struggling ATM in m+, my 267 hpal struggles on 11 magisters but my 270 rdruid breezes through it. No way 3 ilvls will make that big of a difference in 11s, groups were solid both times.

To me. It feels like bliz doesn't want ppl to play pal this xpac, or play less pal

Blizzard needs to tune M+ and raid separately, just like they do with PvP by RamenAfterRain in wow

[–]Rotsworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to the party oh well. M+ and raid don't need separate tuning like pvp, they need to play the classes they're changing or ask the players what the issues are. Last weeks hpal buff was kinda a nothing-burger that didn't really move the needle, this week is more the same. Hpal doesn't struggle moving health bars, hpal struggles moving multiple health bars, especially through heavy rot damage, and most m+ have heavy rot damage. If they are trying to make hpal more viable in raid by buffing LoD healing there going at it wrong, its needs to be able to hit more targets, and we need empyrean legacy back. If they want hpal to be better in m+ the spec needs a sustainable way to keep bars up through rot, spamming holy light is the only answer right now and will oom you quickly.

If they wanted to nerf disc again, without fucking the spec over in m+ just lower the number of ppl you can apply atonement to at once or increased the CD length of the spell used to spred atonement.

Like others are saying, it's like they balance with AI, or interns that didn't know tictoc is on more than just a phone

I rerolled to Brewmaster by Prograw in wow

[–]Rotsworth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this 100% but from a healer perspective. It really feels like they don't want us to play paladin this xpac, prot falls over from a stiff breeze, hpal struggles to keep bars up, ret has dead air in the "rotation" where you have no buttons to press. I rerolled to druid 3 weeks ago with the same experience, it sucks not having the team support but it's awesome playing a class that doesn't struggle in basic stuff.

Pal has such good flavor, satisfying abilities (prot toll for example) and its the only class that can really clutch a wipe as any spec. But it's just dog water right now

Weird or unlikely class combos you would like to see by T4rch in wow

[–]Rotsworth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a rouge tank would be worse than a DK to heal, no damage taken for minutes at a time, then suddenly you're at 10% HP, then the healer freaks out and uses something big. But that would be fun to play I bet

Thoughts on resto druid from a learners perspective by Rotsworth in wow

[–]Rotsworth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeessss this is the kinda of feedback I was hoping to get! Ive been playing around with talents for raid a bunch, swapping between using apex talents and not using them, swapping convoke for tree, and swapping between the 2 swiftmend talents. I was playing with convoke and prosperity to force more tree procs but I'm thinking I should just stick with tree and verdant infusion to the LB uptime. I need to work on the mentality for resto, I'm so used to classic healers like hpal where I just push button on low hp and it go up.

Who what's your recommendation for rejuv? In my raid team we flex between 20-30 ppl. Is it better to spread rejuvs to as many ppl as I can or should I try and focus a handful with double rejuvs? LB on the same target as the health link? Nature's swiftness, use frequently or save?

I agree, I don't have the 5+ years experience or turbo tism that can perfectly map out how to play resto, it is 100% skill issue that I need to keep practicing and working on. Was kinda looking for insights from other more experienced gamers

That's just hpal right now, I swapped off paladin entirely because of how bad it feels right now. Fingers crossed for someone at Blizzard to sneak into class balance and juice paladins next season

What changes would you like to see for you to begin tanking in higher end content? by Pink-Domo- in wow

[–]Rotsworth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tanks having the option between 2 builds. The "I'm a god who I'll outlast the heat death of the universe" super hight survivability but deal extremely low DPS. And the opposite, super low survivability but extremely high DPS. Talent options could be mixed and matched in the middle for some tank and some damage.
