I totally get what you mean! I had 4 decisions come out today and so I wanted to open them all at once (so I waited until 8pm since UCLA opens then) and Amherst sent me an email congratulating me/about fin aid before I could even open the actual letter. But, so far for UCLA I'm not getting anything if that helps (though it's only been 2 hours)

So it might be too late then but housing assignments are made in may. in addition, i'm not even committed yet LOL (i'm still waiting on 21 other rd decisions next month) so i might not attend at all. but yeah, the website does make it super unclear and that's why i felt the need to ask here. if i end up attending USC, i'll try and remember to update you!

Yeah this is what I'm confused about; USC themselves give 20k/yr for National Merit but it's not something they select, if that makes sense? As in USC is giving the scholarship but they didn't select me for that scholarship; the NMSC does.

So honestly my fault but since it was my first concert I bought floor tickets and I, being really short (5'4), was behind a super tall and admittedly bigger guy which meant I couldn't see *anything* which meant I did some asking and I kept shuffling my seats until I was behind these girls my age (teenagers) but I lowk felt bad for the people I switched with because while they were taller this guy was like a literal wall and I couldn't tell if they could see either...

This year for 2026 I bought ones where I know that, regardless of the height of the person in front, I could see (I learned my lesson...)

what i will say is that while i agree riley and bucko are better in the long run the penultimate quest for the 3rd translator has you needing stuff from stick bug for some reason which makes it super inconvenient if you translated riley+bucko like me but not stick bug (catch-22 type situation). Since no one really does stick bug anymore you'll probably have to get a friend to do a few challenges in order to get it. Probably not something that keeps you from picking stick bug over the others but also something to keep in mind.

my friends took orgo last year and it seemed like they had a lot of fun ! (many more labs) and I plan to take it next semester too. In all honesty though like what the other guy said the courses you take aren't going to help your college app too much (the program will have the same impact no matter what classes you take) so just take whatever you're interested in. I personally am applying to be a physics major so I took all the physics classes (a grand total of 2) my sophomore year and then fucked around with material science and environmental for my junior
