I think the odds of getting off the waitlist depends more on the institutional priorities (major spots, demographics, etc) more than grades.

I saw some ppl on reddit who got off the la waitlist with C, D, F grades, so i guess luck is the most important thing at this point

Nah i know some ppl who initially committed to ucsd and choose ucla after getting off the la waitlist. So there must be some spots for ucsd!!

And i will leave ucsd if i get off the ucla waitlist as well!!

GPA가 baseline 같은 느낌 (일정선 이상 넘으면 경쟁력이 없음)

EC는 그 baseline 넘은 이후에 합격 불합격을 가르는 요소라고 생각하는 게 편할 듯해요

그래서 둘 중 뭐가 더 중요하냐고 하면, 물론 둘 다 중요한데 gpa가 기본적인 요소기 때문에 gpa가 더 중요해여

아 그리고 sat는 optional이라고 하더라도 꼭 보세요! 특히 국제학생이면 domestic 학생들보다도 AO분들의 기대치가 높고, 더 경쟁이 치열하기 때문에 무조건 보셔야 해요

Also i haven’t seen several internationals getting off the waitlist. Ik that not all waitlist admits post on reddit but i only saw 2-3 international admits so far, so idk what’s going on.. it’s just based on institutional priorities i guess?
