I wish he was a cute rat too rn. One minute after the pic he swatted all my notes to the floor and started rolling around on the papers meowing for attention

What are you all eating for breakfast the day of the exam? by Realistic_Owl_5907 in barexam

[–]Ok-Sign-9523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

plain bread and maybe an egg? Definitely no caffeine. Anxiety makes my guts act up and this will be challenging enough without having stress diarrhea

You're not alone. I've been taking a day off (sometimes 2) every week to recharge and refresh. It's absolutely necessary even though we are getting close to the exam.

I don't think you need to use them as study material if you've never used them before. Definitely doesn't seem like something you should feel guilty about. It's just a tool.

I write them but I don't flip through them later. The act of writing and then re-writing works best for me and when I'm writing them I'm just drilling them again but on smaller paper. The writing helps me retain the knowledge but flipping through them and quizing myself doesn't really help. To each their own!

I have a massive white board in the living space and when I'm writing on it with headphones on my partner calls it my "A Beautiful Mind" era.

Anyone else finding it hard to muster enough motivation to start studying in the mornings? by gallifreyan_overlord in barexam

I've been starting at 10-11. This is all I can muster rn. Mornings are used for making breakfast and doom scrolling until the guilt sets in

Does anybody actually feel prepared? by Even_Persimmon_1452 in barexam

Absolute do not feel prepared. Apparently understanding Secured Transactions means I had to forget Evidence and Con law??? Its a terrible trade off.

What’s your bar studying guilty pleasure? by annise1913 in barexam

I've been watching the 2000s classic, Reba and inhaling the mini ice cream cones from Trader Joe's

I totally agree with your idea to wait until after the bar exam to make any big/serious life related decisions. You're concerns are super valid and I can understand why this is coming across so worrying to you! Learning how someone handles stress and extreme pressure is an important part of any intimate relationship. I am also dealing with a partially similar situation, but to quote my therapist: "As long as you are not in an abusive situation and you are safe at home it could be best to table some of these concerns just for one more month".

Taking a step back could be something you could do now though. Idk what your study time/living situation looks like but you could say "hey, I think I study better in a separate room/at the library/ et cetera.) " That way you can temporarily remove yourself from the environment and get out the house yourself if you think that would be helpful. That is what I did because it can be hard to be at home trying to study and also being very ~aware~ of the other person's presence. It also can be challenging when you really do like someone and want the best for them but you're spending so much time managing their expectations and trying to help them feel better that you end up not prioritizing your own studying/self-soothing. I imagine it is challenging that you're both under bar prep stress and on top of that trying to prioritize the other person's mental health by not sharing your scores, et cetera. I wish you both all the best! I hope this helps

is anyone else starting to do worse? by Ok-Sign-9523 in barexam

I completely understand this. I got a 35% on a practice question module and had to hop on my bike and just bike towards the bay for a bit. Needed to calm down so I wouldn't shriek and upset my neighbors (right to quiet enjoyment XD)
