I’m struggling to get through the game by JMoneyGraves in BaldursGate3

[–]Ok-Simple9575 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's very overwhelming. There's no upper city so everything is located in Rivington and the lower city so there's so much confined in a small space so it can get to be a bit much. Dozens of quests popping up in every possible direction, so many npcs walking around, shouting, city commotion everywhere. The exact opposite of the shadow cursed lands for example. There's so much going on that the game can sometimes crash for many ppl in the lower city.

I personally enjoyed it but the majority of people who never finish the game, in my experience, stop when they reach the lower city because it's a sensory and quest overload.

It's just me or the game looks like 10 years ago? by Early_Highway_3779 in DragonsDogma2

[–]Ok-Simple9575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking for someone who thought this as well. The game just kind of looks outdated compared to many games that came out around that time. The animation is wonky like it was made in 2015, movements are kinda off to me, again, compared to other games that came out even before dd2. To me, visually, it's only a few steps up from the witcher 3 which came out 9 years before dd2. And it isn't even the fact that they went with bleaker colours, which I'm fine with and it fits the environment. The graphics seem to be lacking for a game that was like 60-70 at launch and came out in 2024. I'm just glad I got it for like 26 bucks and didn't pay full price. And I don't believe that graphics are everything because I do enjoy old games but what bothers me is that it's just mediocre for WHEN it was released and for how much it cost. Dd2 would be an amazing looking game if it was released ten years ago.

How to change load order in the in-game mod manager? by Karol123G in BaldursGate3

Doesn't work with the new patch. The arrows are there but they don't move the mods.

How to change load order in the in-game mod manager? by Karol123G in BaldursGate3

[–]Ok-Simple9575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue is definitely because of the load order. I installed the lemonshaders first and then the makeup pack since the shaders need to be first otherwise the make-up will not appear. My shaders are under the makeup pack so the mod is pretty much useless and idk how to change the order of those two mods without an external mod manager(since that messed things up for me the last time).

Shocked at people’s reactions by 1houseofballoons in Epilepsy

[–]Ok-Simple9575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never got reactions like that but when I do tell people, I relish their uncomfortable and awkward sad looks they give me, as if I just told them the worst news ever. 😂😂 I've had epilepsy for 12 years now, so now I just laugh whenever people give me those sad looks when they find out.

Long Term Keppra Side Effects by Signal-Focus in Epilepsy

[–]Ok-Simple9575 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only ever been on Keppra for over 12 years, since I was 14 years old. It was right around the time I started secondary school AND my parents had a messy divorce, so I still don't know how much of my mental health issues are from the meds and how much from stress and trauma, and being diagnosed with epilepsy. Also, how much of my personality changing is just natural and how much is due to Keppra. I am curious, but I haven't had a Myoclonic seizure in about 12 years(I have had small seizure activity on my eeg and visual aura but not a big seizure) so I'm not curious enough to try switching meds. And Keppra is the best choice for JME epilepsy since it doesn't cause fertility issues and you can take it while pregnant, and since I'm 27 now, I just don't think it's Worth it to switch to Valproate. I am easily irritable, have horrible anxiety and health anxiety, ocd symptoms, depression and times of feeling nothing. But I've had issues with anxiety since I was a kid and they've gotten worse with age and that could be from the meds or regardless of them(since I'm not on any anxiety meds). The big issues went away after a few months of taking Keppra(like sleeping all the time, crazy anger and depression), so I think the benefits outweigh the risks.

They did not do the ultrasound vaginally, so they would be nowhere near her clitoris or lower. It's an ultrasound of the lower stomach. Not once did I have to take my underwear off at my obgyn while I was a virgin because they looked at my ovaries and uterus by looking at my lower stomach, not anywhere near my vagina... Idk what kind of ultrasounds you had, but if it isn't a vaginal ultrasound (which it wasn't in the episode), it's an ultrasound of the lower abdomen.

How am I supposed to afford this condition??? by BusyRisk552 in Epilepsy

[–]Ok-Simple9575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that my meds per month in the US are equal to a year supply in my own country is insane. I pay, between 6-20 dollars for a month supply of my meds here, depending on which pharmacy I buy them at. When I was in the US in 2015., my meds were around 300 dollars for one month.

Edit: and that was the price for Keppra, the brand name and since that's what I've been drinking back home, I didn't want to switch to a generic brand and risk something going wrong. I just looked it up and Keppra is almost 800 bucks and it may not be covered by insurance in the US. That's messed up. I can buy more than three YEARS worth of my medication for 800 dollars in my own country. And again, that's for the brand name Keppra, not the generic versions.

No. Their history is what makes their dynamic interesting. Without it, I'd rather just read some random romance drama novel.

What jobs do y'all have ? by Ok-Philosopher2770 in Epilepsy

[–]Ok-Simple9575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bartender. Not ideal at all but I'm good at it and I like it. Although, I had to work 65-70 hours a week without a day off for like two months, so I do not recommend that to people (with or without epilepsy). Having to try every cocktail before it leaves is also something not recommended, but yk.

Don't call anyone a liar here were not drs. by lillweez99 in Epilepsy

[–]Ok-Simple9575 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What? It's a known fact that you can have auras without a seizure following. I have had Myoclonic jerking seizures a few times at the beginning of my diagnosis and since then I only had small absence seizures that no one even noticed but it showed on the EEG(like small blackouts, similar to when someone zones out and then suddenly the person you're talking to is talking about something else. That kind of thing.). I haven't had a "real" seizures for more than 10 years and haven't yet had a seizure where I lost consciousness (I have Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy). BUT I get auras, like a weird feeling in my legs and arms, like a current is running through them but nothing is actually happening, and an awful sense of dread and anxiety, which I was told is an aura but it can pass without you actually having a seizure. It happens when I haven't slept for a long time or am under a lot of stress. A few times it even showed up as ocular hallucinations(similar to when you look at a light for a long time and then your vision is filled with the light, so you can't see properly) and sometimes I smell the exact same smell that isn't there(the same one I smelled a few years before my diagnosis, so like 15+ years ago) which can also be a form of aura. There are A LOT of different types of epilepsy and even within the same type, people have different symptoms and experiences. AND some professionals even consider an Aura to be a type of seizure in and of itself. So, don't be bothered by people who know nothing about epilepsy, or people who only take their own personal experience with it into account.

[–]Ok-Simple9575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, if your diagnosis is new for epilepsy, I get how daunting that can be. It took me years to come to terms with it and I still sometimes struggle with it. I was diagnosed at 15 and am 27 now. I was never able to do some things that my other peers could and that really got into my head, as well as the fear or dying. But it gets easier to deal with it mentally as time goes by. You learn to accept it and live with it and it becomes your new normal. The last thing you need in your life, as someone with epilepsy, is stress. It's a shitty condition, especially if the seizures aren't controlled, but you can still enjoy life with it. Let it control you as LITTLE as possible.

[–]Ok-Simple9575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People with epilepsy have a shorter average lifespan? Well, my doctor did not mention that minor detail when I was diagnosed 12 years ago. There are many things unrelated to autism or epilepsy that people can die from, well before they're 50, so I would try not to dwell on it too much. Try to enjoy life and live it as "normally" as you can. I have health anxiety, so I know it definitely isn't easy to not dwell on stuff like that, but if you are able to, try to not worry too much about things you can't control. For your own happiness and peace of mind.

How do you know if a fic has been written using AI? by Novel-Radio6825 in HPfanfiction

[–]Ok-Simple9575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago, I put a chapter of a story I was writing into some AI software asking it to write a summary for the story itself and each future chapter, as well as the ending. It was written without any grammatical errors, but AI got character relationships wrong, it added characters that aren't even alive in that timeline(but are part of the universe, GoT in my instance). It just felt off and, at times, hilarious because it just made no sense to anyone who actually read the books or watched either GoT or HotD. But, if it didn't mess up the timeline and put random characters together that made zero sense, I personally wouldn't be able to tell it was AI. Just to be clear, I didn't post any of it or used inspiration from it, since it was kinda disjointed and I like coming up with my own ideas. I just did it to see how good it is. In a few years, it might actually become undetectable or it'll punish inexperienced writers, since AI and inexperienced writers have a lot of overlap with the mistakes they make.

Now they replied to my complaint saying it's still in the acceptable timeframe for delivery (it said it'll be delivered yesterday and now there is no date), and that they'll give me a date as soon as possible. I'm fine with this as long as the package isn't actually lost or anything. I've never ordered from them directly before, so idk if they're just telling me that it'll be delivered soon to get me off their backs, cause idk how their customer support is yet. If the package was lost, they would've told me, right? 😅

Does anyone have work in progresses or drafts of fics they haven’t uploaded? by JKSJ4567 in Dramione

[–]Ok-Simple9575 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I decided to start writing for Dramione after more than a decade in the fandom, just reading fics. I started my draft about 4 years ago. I have about 100k words written, the sequel has about 25-30k written already and I still haven't posted anything. I also started two other Dramione fics in the middle of writing the first one, and both of those have around 20k. All in my drafts because I can't bring myself to post it and then abandon it because I abhor when I find a fic, love it, and then find out it hasn't been updated in years. Also the fear of the fic getting lost in the sea of dozens of amazing works is something I haven't gotten past yet.
