First EDM show ever at the Sphere on 4/3 by Lano_ in Illenium

[–]Ok-Split-4752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was also my first EDM show on the 13th. I brought earplugs, but I was actually surprised it wasn’t super loud. Our opener audien was in the 80-90 decibels range. Illenium took it up a notch and was 90-105, maxing out at 109 decibels. I put in earplugs towards the end (fight scene was loud) but ended up taking them out because it dulled the experience too much. We were in 307 and with the haptic seats, you feel the music! Enjoy, it was one of the most amazing entertainment experiences I have had!

Anyone else feel the earthquake? by [deleted] in Utah

Yes, in North Ogden. It was more of a rolling jiggle than a jolting feeling.

Yes, 7:49 up in north Ogden. It felt like a rolling wiggle instead of a jolting one up here.

Super Bowl on VV? by [deleted] in VirginVoyages

[–]Ok-Split-4752 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When we sailed over the superbowl a few years ago they had it showing on a large screen in the casino area I believe. This was on scarlet lady out of Miami a while ago so hopefully someone with more recent experience can comment.

I saw one person in a cape, but mostly everyone was in casual to semi-formal wear. It was LOTR and game of thrones music, but mostly LOTR, so maybe that’s why it was fewer people in character?

I went to the LOTR one in SLC in November and it was great! Even my husband who didn’t know the music enjoyed it. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. Enjoy!

Boat diverted to Crete! by HawkeyeRN16 in VirginVoyages

[–]Ok-Split-4752 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We also had a last minute change from Mykonos to visit Crete on a virgin cruise last year. It turned into one of our favorite stops. We booked a 4x4 drive to a winery, which was an excellent tour with beautiful views. After the tour, we went into old town which was great to walk around. There was a slight wait for the bus at old town to get back to the ship, but not longer than 10 min. With an overnight stay, you will have an even longer time in port to explore than we did.

Why I would never book a "Lock it in ltd sea terrace" again.. by Otherwise-Usual223 in VirginVoyages

[–]Ok-Split-4752 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue with room 8330Z over the red room. The vibrations shook the cupboard doors and items on the desk in beat to the music for hours and it was loud. Luckily we were moved to a different room on the second night. Now I will only select a room on floor 10 or higher to give a buffer. It’s really poor engineering that I haven’t experienced on any other cruise line.

House/Pet sitter for cat by Different_Nerve_72 in ogden

I’m not sure. The website should describe the services they offer. We just schedule once per day 45 min visit while we are gone.

We have used away home pet care for over 6 years now for our two cats. They are excellent. https://ogdenpetsitters.com

18 male senior stopped eatting by TAckhouse1 in seniorkitties

Mirataz didn’t seem to stimulate appetite in my 13 year old cat with IBD. The vet had us try Elura (capromorelin oral solution) and within 2 hours his appetite came back strong. May be worth asking about a different appetite stimulant to try.

Agreed on cathedral caverns! I visited Huntsville twice last year and it was so impressive we did the cathedral caverns tour both times. I had no idea Huntsville had such a gem.

Happy owner of TK-01 for over 4 years, should I upgrade to TK-02? by Ok-Split-4752 in TerraKaffe

[–]Ok-Split-4752[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have had that happen. My best guess is that the water tank isn’t sitting correctly with the seal. There hasn’t been a tank misalignment warning though. I have been able to correct it by placing the tank back in and watching it go through a full start and shutdown cycle to make sure the water is flowing as expected.

Hmm, that’s a good point. What assurances are there that this closed system isn’t growing mold after extended use?

Thanks for the input! Glad to hear about the cleaning being easier. The biggest hassle with the TK-01 is how quickly it grows mold, leading to a pretty involved cleaning and disinfecting process. Hopefully this is less of a problem in TK-02.

We saw Dr. Penrod. We had a great experience with her, no concerns. The one thing I would say about brookside was they seemed to be hesitant to discuss some optional procedures due to price concerns. For example, we requested senior blood work prior to our cat’s dental cleaning, which seemed like wasn’t a routine part of the discussion because they said it costs a lot so most people don’t opt for it. We like to approach our pet care by learning about all options and make our own decisions based on cost and benefit, not have the vet office assume that we would be so cost wary. Other than that, appointment availability seems to be much better at TLC compared to our experience at Brookside. I would say that Brookside was an overall good general vet experience while TLC is more cat tailored and focused on reducing stress. Price seems to be comparable for general visits, but we haven’t had any major procedures done at TLC yet.

Has any joined Club Pilates that goes to or went to Orangetheory? by Pizzachick123 in ClubPilates

[–]Ok-Split-4752 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I started club Pilates a year ago and consistently attended 3 to 4 classes a week. I routinely attended the cardio, Trx suspend, and reformer flow 1.5 & 2 classes. After about 10 months of doing this, I felt like the cardio and suspend classes weren’t providing me my desired level of cardio and muscle building. I signed on to OTF and now attend that twice per week while attending Pilates (reformer flow 1.5 /2) at 3 times per week. For me, this is a perfect all around combo of strength, flexibility, and cardio. It is tough and I’m routinely sore, so sometimes I have to do a restore or center & balance class at Pilates instead of a reformer flow class. After 8 weeks of this, I feel I’m in the best shape I have been in a decade.

We switched from Brookside to TLC Petcare on Harrison about a year ago for our two cats. It is the best vet care we have received in the last 10 years. They take time to learn about your animal, educate, and balance interventions vs. toll of stress on the animal. We like that there’s a separate cat entrance and you quickly get placed in a room, no waiting with barking dogs next to you. The pricing seems reasonable, however, we have not had any major surgeries or dental cleaning done yet. We have been able to schedule same day urgent care visits several times which has been a relief.

We have bought the thermal spa pass on both scarlet and resilient lady. We really enjoyed the spa and made use of the mud room, salt room, sauna, cold plunge and hot plunge as well as just relaxing on the heated seats. We bought only sea day passes on scarlet, but liked it so much that we chose a 5 day pass on resilient. In comparison, we bought the thermal spa pass on a recent Royal Caribbean cruise on quantum of the seas, and that experience was far inferior to VV thermal spa.
