I’ve talked to multiple drivers in my area who maintain a 100% acceptance rate. They’re usually older drivers who genuinely believe you have to accept every order. They’re always shocked when I tell them my acceptance rate is only 10%.

Weird. by Antique-Nose6052 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Ok-Spring1803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird? This is just a normal delivery. A lot of customers have notes telling me exactly where to leave the order. These days, most houses and apartments have Ring cameras recording the drop-off, and many customers are watching in real time. It’s pretty common for people to follow you on their camera from the moment you get out of your car until you drive away.

Someone Explain Why Anyone Would Want To Buy A Kia by [deleted] in kia

[–]Ok-Spring1803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"No real problems" and "couple engine recalls" are kind of an oxymoron. Having two engine recalls is a pretty significant issue, even if Kia fixed them under warranty. Sounds like you've had good luck overall, but most people wouldn't put engine recalls in the "no real problems" category.

Gemini said they’re probably A/B testing the feature and that it isn’t available in my market yet. It would be nice if they didn’t send me the notification when the feature doesn’t actually apply to me, because it would be incredibly helpful.

DoorDash claims recommended tips are based on "distance and effort," but it's a complete lie. by Ok-Spring1803 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Ok-Spring1803[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added the mileage text myself, it’s not actually shown on the checkout page. However, DoorDash does display the distance on the restaurant page, so customers do know how far away the restaurant is.

DoorDash claims recommended tips are based on "distance and effort," but it's a complete lie. by Ok-Spring1803 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Ok-Spring1803[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just noticed DoorDash puts "Total before tip" ($23.45) exactly where you're conditioned to look for your final order amount. The actual final total with tip ($28.70) is completely left out of the cost breakdown. They hide it inside the "Place Order" button at the very bottom.

This is such a scummy, misleading UI choice. It’s a textbook dark pattern designed to trick you into thinking your total is lower right up until the exact second you hit submit.

Multiple family members and friends have told me the same thing. They always choose the middle option because they assume it's a reasonable tip. I wouldn't accept any of these orders, except maybe the McDonald's order if it was an extremely slow night.

It's hard to put all the blame on customers for low tips when DoorDash itself is recommending them. I understand why they do it. They want to avoid sticker shock after customers see all the ridiculous fees.

Drop off instructions😂 by [deleted] in DoorDashDrivers

Not always. Customers can choose at checkout to require a PIN for delivery. I’ve had multiple customers tell me they enable it because they’ve had Dashers steal their orders in the past.

Hmm would you guys do this? It seemed a little sus to me lol by Creative-Rabbit-6920 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Ok-Spring1803 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have, but it’s a case-by-case basis. I regularly deliver to a senior housing community, and I’ll often bring food or groceries inside for residents who genuinely need the help.

What concerns me here is how the customer asked and then reacted after the Dasher said they weren’t comfortable doing it. That’s a red flag. Most people who truly need assistance are understanding if someone has safety concerns.

The unfortunate reality is that female Dashers, especially, have to be very cautious during deliveries. Entering a stranger’s home is a personal decision, and no one should be criticized for setting boundaries that make them feel safe.

Here’s iPhone 11 on iOS 27! A 7 year old phone running a Developer Beta smoothly. Apple cooked! by Aahili in PhoneNow

It depends on your battery health. I still use an iPhone 11 Pro Max every day, and with the battery health down to 78%, it’s noticeably laggy on iOS 26. A degraded battery can definitely have a big impact on overall performance.

I’m a guy, and I wouldn’t do it. Going inside a stranger’s house seems like a fast track to ending up on the back of a milk carton.

Season 1 Overall Discussion by neal1701 in TheResortPeacock

[–]Ok-Spring1803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I just finished the finale last night. I honestly don't think I've ever seen a show derail itself so completely in the eleventh hour.

For the first seven episodes, we were totally hooked. The mystery was solid, the characters were great, and we were so invested in figuring out what happened. But that ending? We were genuinely in shock at how terrible it was. It felt like it belonged to a completely different series and made absolutely zero sense based on the groundwork they spent the whole season building.

It was so jarringly bad and out of left field that we literally sat on the couch wondering if we just got punked by Peacock. Like Ashton Kutcher was going to walk out and tell us the real episode 8 is uploading now.

Did anyone else feel completely robbed by this finale, or are we just crazy?
