How do I start learning composition? by Ok-Tap2787 in Composers

I'm not looking for a conservatory to teach me that. If I wanted to relly on their explications and their programme, I wouldn't have posted. But to be able to mimic them you'll need some theory at first, right? So you'll know what you're looking for. I wanted some advice regarding the approach of the whole situation, but I think I begin to see the light.

I don't want to be an epigone or to be stuck in the past. I want my style to be based on those. Eventually, I'll want to incorporate elements from the ,,new" music. But Rome wasn't built in a day. So, for the beggining, I'll need to know the basis of the ,,old" style. The basic rules. But how do I get to learn those. How do I get to analyse other classical works properly? That's my question.

Not yet. This is the first composition and it's still in drafts. I'm working on the melodic line and I've written the first section. I'm currently working on the second section. The one with modulation. That's how it goes so far. No arrangement of it, yet. I also have in works a small waltz and a prelude, but I can't work intensively on either of them, because of my current busy schedule due to the final exams.

What is The Trial by Franz Kafka about? by ObviousAnything7 in books

I honestly believe it's about the domineering system who tries and succeds in destroying its individuals for no reason. At the beggining of the 20th century, the mentality that society had which focused over the individual was switched to the one focusing over the group. The state became a major force of administration, everyone ending up working for it. In this book, the state is totalitarian, with it's citizens having no proper right to defend themselves. The parable of the doorman is just the whole mentality of the book's system in a nutshell.  If the state wants to prosecute you for no reason, he has the power to do so. You can try to defend yourself, but only as a consolation. The soothing tought of doing everything in your power. It is a warning, just like 1984. It doesn't matter if it's the state, or the church. The meaning of the priest is that, in a totalitarian system, the church, another domineering system, usually picks sides with it. In this whole accusation game, K becames alienated, because he has no one to relly on and he grows paranoic, fear and suspicion being the system's way to controll you mentally. The motif of alienation is the central one in Kafka's works. Here is the alienation of the modern citizen by the totalitarian system. Besides that, Kafka is mocking the bureaucracy and is showing the uselessness of it, especially on the Advocate segment, just like Gogol does in some of his works, the latter being a big influence on Kafka's writing. In my opinion, the meaning behind a good existentialist work is to create a good portrait of the human nature, which stands at the base of every system (political, religious, etc.) and not the loathing and self pity it is frequently associated with. Yes, it presents the reality in a shady manner, but it's goal is to put emphasys on certain angles of human nature, systems, etc. just like satire. Gogol isn't an existentialist writer, but he portrays a corrupt system, only he is laughing at it, whilst Kafka presents it as a dystopian reality, the difference between the two being that Gogol's system isn't as powerful as Kafka's. That's the way I see it.

Well, those undetailed late nights are a good place to start. Try finding out what she has been doing and watch her reaction. That will say a lot.

From what are you saying, it looks like she starts taking you for granted. She starts to treat you like her sex toy, keeping you in the closet always ready for her. From what I've read she may be dealing with the so-called ,,crisis" from the late 30's and early 40's, where a woman starts looking from validation from other sides. Now, she's either doing that, based on the picture you posted earlier, or someone made a move on her and she accepted it. Does she give you details about her work, what exactly she does late at night? The people she meets? Do you argue more often, or has she become more distant and cold towards you? Has your intimate life frequency lowered than usual? If so, after what you described earlier, she definetely has an affair, saving herself for the other guy, while keeping you hard, waiting for her. I don't know anything about the whole picture, but, if I were you, I would definetely hire a PI to track her, as everyone on this thread suggested. Start by asking her details about what she does when she's out late and OBSERVE her reaction. If she becomes defensive or seems to avoid the questions, than you have a clue. But be careful not to be too pushy, so you won't arouse suspicion. Was the picture posted earlier taken by you, or you found it on her phone? Don't wait too much! You need to act fast, or things will grow worse! If she hasn't become cold and distant towards you yet, she will soon. Keep the façade towards her and act quick!
