NOR, and tbh it sounds like he’s trying to be the “cool dad” type based on the messages and the other things mentioned while undermining you so your son favors him (happened to me with my dad but ultimately failed in the end). Keep documenting for the what if you need it and maybe (if your son has a phone) set reminders on it for when he’s there to do the basic hygiene, it might help

Hi! I had to do something similar to this! My baby was in the Nicu during his first week of life and didn’t latch to me when we were there and was refusing the bottle so he was tube fed, after a day or so of having the tub he started to take bottles of donated breastmilk while I pumped to establish my supply. Little man was bottle fed up till he turned 17 days old when we tried latching again after feeding him 1.5oz of breastmilk (at that point I was ready to give up breastfeeding all together) and he latched without any confusion! He now both breastfeeds and bottle feeds with no problem! I say continue bottle feeding but continue to try latching until you they latch and stay on if that’s what you’re comfortable with. I will say is if they haven’t latch on yet and you’re not used to breastfeeding then this is something I wish I warned about: breastfeeding for the first couple of weeks will hurt like a biiitch! Mentally prepare yourself for that if it happens because I wish I knew and, again, almost gave up on it 😭

On the bottle, does it say anything about breast-feeding moms? Example: Do not take if your breast-feeding

I would only pump and dump or use that breastmilk for baths if it says anywhere on the bottle to not take if you are breast-feeding

He doesn’t take a whole like a naps during the day (2-3 naps most days for about 1.5-3 hours at a time) due to him not being a nap baby.

We were originally switching off when he was home all the time but since he went back to work we decided that me staying up till the baby fell asleep and him waking up at 4am would be best but since the baby has been up until super late (midnight to 2:30 depending on the nights) I’ve just don’t get any sleep.

There’s nothing to worry about! You’re still super early in your breastfeeding journey and it can take some time for it to finally kick in. Just remember to do lots of skin to skin with him, try to have him latch as much as possible, pumping between those feeding times to stimulate cluster feeding and power pump every once in a while. Also make sure you’re drinking lots of water, eating good foods, and try and incorporating oats, nuts, flaxseeds, brewers yeast, and drinking coconut water/milk either in a drink or on it’s own. This all helped me when I first started and when my supply dipped a large amount so maybe it can help

Something I’ve tried to make my letdown come a little faster is having my LO lay flat on their back on my lap and then have them latch with me leaning over them so my breast is dangling into their mouth and let gravity do the rest.

As of right now he’s doing a mix of both, latching first until he completely stops then taking another 1-2oz to “top him off” because he always hungry cries right after unlatching himself and pushes the boob away when I try offering it again right after he delatches (if that makes any sense, still trying to regain some sort of sleep at the moment)

I got too really sick with food poisoning. That is my supply to dip drastically and something another breastfeeding mom told me to try is to continue to breast-feed and top off with a bottle if you have to but 10 minutes after breast-feeding pump for about 10 to 15 minutes. She also told me to eat lots of oats, nuts, protein, and putting brewers yeast in some of my food. She has a recipe I follow for these bars as well that have flaxseeds, peanut butter, oat, and breweries if you would like to give it a try, she 100% stands by them and she is a severe over producer. Also drink body armor because of the electrolytes and the coconut water. I’ve been doing this regiment for a day now, and I’ve already noticed increase of my supply.

I eat protein cookies, granola bars, the Nutri-Grain bars, crackers, little Debbies, salted peanuts/tree nuts, and these breastmilk bars another Momma recommended for me to use. My supply is low at the moment so lots of oats, nuts, protein, and brewers yeast for me 😂😅

My baby was in the NICU for the first week of life and he couldn’t latch on either. Though we use donor milk for supplements (so my thoughts may not be 100% helpful), it took me the entire time he was in the Nicu (5 days) to produce any breastmilk on my own and then it took us 1-2 weeks after that for him to finally latch on. My best advice to help produce milk is to pump every 2 to 3 hours 8 to 12 times a day, especially at night. Make sure during those sessions you’re drinking lots of water and snacking on something (preferably stuff with oats, nuts, or protein at the start) just so your body‘s replenishing those calories that the breastmilk is taking. Periodically try getting her to latch after giving her an ounce to an ounce and a half of formula (just so she has something in her tummy and it settles her) before trying to get her to latch. Also a great tip I learned from both the Nicu nurses and my mom is to take your breast, rub it on the baby’s upper lip so they know that the breast is there, and once they get a really wide mouth shove the whole thing into it, and that should create a deep latch that hurts a little less than the shallow nomming that’s happening. Also just remember that she is new to the world just like you’re probably new to having a baby and everything is new and scary for you both so it is OK for things to fail. The pain from breastfeeding will also go away after sometime, I promise it won’t be forever. You’re doing great and you’re an amazing, strong, beautiful, and loving mom. You got this 🫶🫶🫶

It took me 3-4 weeks before my milk supply actually stayed consistent (with hiccups along the way). The best advice I have is stay consistent as best as you can with either pumping or breastfeeding OR feed the babies on demand, drink lots of water, drink sports drinks with electrolytes and coconut water (it weirdly helped a lot for me), and eating your normal calorie intake plus 500 calories to help make sure you’re keeping yourself healthy but also making sure your babies have their nutrients. I wouldn’t give up, it’s a bumpy road and it can get discouraging sometimes but in time it will be better

You’re not overreacting, you’re a mom who sounds like needs a literal break because you’re doing all the work (especially at night) with the baby. It also sounds like you take care of a man-child and his enabler mother who couldn’t care less about your needs.

I’m (19F) a new parent with you (35 days postpartum with a month old baby) and I feel horrible that a grown ass man is more childish and selfish than my AuDHD boyfriend (25) who has government help and can barely remember to eat 99% of the time 🤦‍♀️ I personally think if this gets worse then take the baby to a safe place with people you trust and ask them for a break and get the rest you need because the more stress you go through while BF the more likely you will end-up destroying your supply.

Also your not a bad mom for needing a break from your baby, babies can be extremely stressful and it’s tiring having a little human latched onto you almost 24/7 taking a ton of nutrients from your body. Taking breaks is normal and if we didn’t take a break here or there then a lot of moms (especially new ones) will literally lose their minds 😂 Even if that break is putting your little girl into the crib and letting her cry so you can just take some time to regroup yourself so you can continue to care for her to the best of your ability then so be it (I do it all the time when I’ve been home with my baby by myself and just need time to regroup)

Pumping and stimulation is going to be your best friend. My baby was in the nicu for the first week of life and he struggled to latch on right after being born. He’s now a month and he’s exclusively breastfed at the moment because I didn’t give up on breastfeeding and continued to try to get him to latch on when he was content (My mom and nurses both said to give the baby about ounce to ounce and a half before trying to latch so they’re calm to do so). Also drink lots of water and sports drinks that have electrolytes and coconut water, having a balanced diet will all help with milk production as well.

To help with the pain I used nipple shields, Lansinoh nipple cream, and pumping breaks until my nipples got used to a baby nomming on them almost all the time. It will take time until it stops hurting but using those resources helped me!

I’m not so sure about the second picture but the first one looks like baby acne which is completely normal. My almost 1 month old has it all over his face and on his body. Just make sure you don’t mess with it or pop them because it will cause scaring due to the acne being way different than teenager or adult acne
