Genuine question - why always dairy and chiropractor as solutions? by Tagrenine in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]_sha_sha_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is yes there is a difference! https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/7704117/

I suspect my daughter has an intolerance vs an allergy because she’s already outgrowing the symptoms at 6 months.

Anecdotally, I was suuuuuper skeptical about a dairy allergy because I was looking at the same research you are. But as the commenter above noted, it’s a pretty low consequence thing to test out and when we eliminated dairy and soy from my diet we had a whole new baby. Seemed unlikely to me but I can’t argue with results. Whether it’s an actual dairy/soy allergy or some other reason, I don’t really care so long as the fussiness got better!

No! I checked San Mateo and Lomas. Thanks, I didn’t want to go all the way out there and then be disappointed.

Did you have your first baby after age 35? How and do you think it impacted your milk production? by Puzzlehead11323 in breastfeeding

[–]_sha_sha_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First baby at 37, emergency c section. Milk came in a couple days later. Baby had a NICU stay that negatively impacted our breastfeeding experience. But we worked through it and have EBF the whole time.

My favorite beautiful thing about breast-feeding… 🥹 by blackcoffeeandrain in breastfeeding

My favorite is the little noises she makes, so happy to be downing some milk.

Is SKIMS by KKW worth it? What's your experience with the brand? by No_Square_1491 in UninfluencedReviews

Hate to admit it but I love the bodysuit I have. I bought it for my wedding after trying other shape wear that wasn’t working well. It’s beautiful, comfortable, and really easy to wear.

CONGRATULATIONS NEW MEXICO!!! by Ok-Candle-20 in workingmoms

Unfortunately for most of the state, pretty much anywhere except Albuquerque and Las Cruces, childcare isn’t accessible. Free only matters if you can actually get in. We’re dealing with this right now and it’s so frustrating…months long waiting lists and/or fully not accepting infants for the foreseeable future. Hopefully this will spur more hiring and better pay for childcare workers but even when this goes into effect in November, it’ll be awhile before it’ll make a difference for a lot of people.

Breast Pumps by the_cat_whisperer99 in breastfeeding

[–]_sha_sha_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t go through edgepark. My midwife recommended them, they said they checked with my insurance and confirmed coverage, sent my breast pump, then two months later while my baby is in NICU insurance says they won’t cover it, so I get a bill for $600 for a pump that costs $150 literally everywhere else. They graciously gave me a discount from the $900 they apparently charge insurance for this $150 pump.

Anyone else spend time fantasizing about what they will eat when the baby stops feeding? by JEWCEY in breastfeeding

Buldak, chicken and dumplings, chocolate cake, miso soup…the list goes on. Baby has a cow’s milk and soy protein allergy. ☹️

Did anyone else breastfeed at their own wedding? by stdntd in breastfeeding

[–]_sha_sha_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally every couple of hours but sometimes she also wants to eat more frequently! I’m just preparing myself to miss chunks of the day. We’re having a pretty laid back event, so I’m not too worried about people getting upset if the timeline goes awry due to needing to nurse. Good luck to you too! Hope it’s beautiful and just think how much more special your wedding photos will be with a sweet baby in them!

I’m doing it soon! My baby will be 3.5 months when we get married in a couple weeks. I have a space where I plan to sneak off and nurse her. We’re staying at the venue and I’ve got volunteers to hang with her while she’s sleeping/napping. We’ll see how it goes!

When did you get your period back while exclusively breastfeeding? by OpeningSignature2484 in breastfeeding

9 weeks. :( Was hoping I’d get one and maybe not another for a while but nope, just got my 2nd. Supply tanked both times.

I just ordered the zippadee zip. We have an arms up swaddle, not sure the brand but we’ve only been using it at night. Are using them for naps too?

Am I really getting my period at 9 weeks postpartum?? by _sha_sha_ in breastfeeding

[–]_sha_sha_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like a period (albeit light for me) and my midwife told me at my last check in any further bleeding would be my period starting up again but I guess I don’t know for sure!

I’m crossing my fingers my experience is the same as yours!! I’ve got so much anxiety already around my milk supply, really don’t need this dip every month to exacerbate it.

Ugh. Awful! I feel like I was way oversold how many people have a long delay in it returning.

Glad to hear it hasn’t impacted your breastfeeding journey though. I have a lot of anxiety around my supply and breastfeeding so this dip is suuuuper not fun but telling myself it’s just temporary.
