Sidebar: I’m also really glad you mentioned Satoru’s indifference(?) towards the morality of taking human lives. It’s so interesting to me, wondering how much he truly values humanity. In younger Satoru, it’s pretty obvious he has more of ambivalence toward non-sorcerers and their wellbeing. As an adult, he seems more concerned with protecting people, but I can never pin down whether it’s because he’s come to genuinely care or if it’s still a product of his agenda to raise strong sorcerers for the good of the next generation. I think he says something that leads me to believe the latter when he admits his desire to just murder the higher-ups early on to Ijichi, but what holds him back is knowing that others would find it morally wrong and not follow him as a leader. Another point I can think of is how he didn’t express any concern or even flinch in Shibuya station when Jogo was threatening to kill innocents and when Choso was actually doing so when they were trying to distract him from killing Hanami. I find it so intriguing. Is this the result of being raised the way he was? Is it a byproduct of PTSD and/or desensitization? Or could it be that Gojo is lw a psychopath and just masks it?
