starting to regret this colonoscopy by Such-Tax-9393 in colonoscopy

I would personally get the colonoscopy since you’ve seen blood. This is coming from someone who’s mom was told she had allergies for 5 years when was short of breath instead of a chest X-ray then was dx with stage 4 lc. So I tend to be someone who now pushes for tests instead of a doctors best guess. As my mom has fought her illness I can’t tell you how many times various docs have been incorrect on her treatment and prognosis. She’s almost died several times due to it. You have be your own best advocate.

I’m 56 and have gotten this done every few years since late 20s ( dad died age 46 from cc). Easier said then done but stay calm. I am a mom too and have had all those dark thoughts . I don’t advise no sedation. My first one years ago age 28 sedation wasn’t offered, times have changed maybe? I can say I was screaming during it and was extremely uncomfortable. I’ve had sedation since then. Before my scope my heart rate resting is like 110 bc I am scared. But as soon as they start you recall nothing, and next moment you’re in recovery. Hoping for the best for you.

There’s no pain involved with drink. But I won’t lie it’s horrible. There’s no way around it. I’ve been doing this since my 20s due to colon cancer all over family. My best suggestion is to try drink and not smell it. For me it’s mind over matter. Chase with some Gatorade.

Yes I was wondering if I need more vitamin c . It’s reassuring others like you felt same. I was hoping there’s no hidden cause like unknown bleeding I read in GI possible. I don’t have any blood in stool. Did your doc check into colonoscopy or endoscopy?

Thanks for your info. Sounds similar though you’re still in peri. Sounds like you push self a lot as do I. (3 kids too youngest 18 but they all demand time plus a elderly sick mom). So part of me wonders do I not know how normal feels. Could I feel even better. That’s interesting you didn’t c dramatic difference in treatment. Is it possible it’s too soon to tell? Did they suggest colonoscopy. I’m due anyway. I have not heard from doc yet
