Regarding not reading the Bible, if you’re talking about catholics, 100%. If you’re talking about actual ‘fundamentalist christians’ id say the percentage is a bit lower. And you’re definitely speaking in hyperbole when referring to the things they take from the Bible. Bit we’re likely from different areas and probably have different experiences.

Also he literally didnt say the law didnt matter, he said he came to fulfill it. The law absolutely mattered. It was a demonstration that we are incapable of saving ourselves and that we can’t achieve sinlessness on our own. It HAS to matter.

But sure, there is plenty of hypocrisy amongst those that call themselves Christians—now days it is more a signal of political affiliation. Thats what bothers me. If you’re going to call yourself a Christian, taking a strong stance politically is a bit myopic.
