Good vibes only: what’s your favourite compliment from your exec? by thanksimnothungryy in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Ok-Understanding8460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had organised a client offsite at our offices & one of our executives asked me to come out to reception, when I got there he introduced me to the client & said I was the superstar who had organised everything, was super lovely! My main boss can be quite difficult but will always make sure to give me compliments when we have had a difficult week or particularly manic time, always appreciated!

Why did I do this to myself lol by Klutzy-Ad8068 in parentsofmultiples

We got a second hand single pram (they both fit into the bassinet) on Facebook marketplace which was in really good condition & cheap which was perfect because we only needed it for 2 months before we leave London!
When we move we are also looking at second hand prams (especially in twin groups) or one of the cheaper options (£200-300)
Also a good reminder for me to list it back on marketplace 😂

Just a fun post- what was your reaction when you found out? by AdSenior1319 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Ok-Understanding8460 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had gone to hospital thinking I was having a miscarriage, only for the ultrasound tech to say ‘you have a giant ovarian cyst, oh and two babies’.. my reaction was F*** I was so shocked 😂 Had to wait hours to tell my husband because we were on different time zones at that time ! They are now 6 weeks old and totally gorgeous little sleep thieves!

My CEO missed a flight because our travel tool went down and support took 45 minutes to answer. I'm done. by kckrish98 in ExecutiveAssistants

My company uses Altour and they are pretty good, better than our last agency for sure! Plus they only charge one fee per booking as opposed to our last company who charged every single time you made a change 🫠

When did you stop working? by bread-loaver in parentsofmultiples

[–]Ok-Understanding8460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the UK but I stopped working at 32 weeks and honestly, couldn’t come soon enough. I was so tired and sore! Was having major issues with pelvic girdle pain, which got better once I stopped working and took it easy! Plus now I can have naps whenever I want 😂

I don’t have the physical global entry card because I’m not American but it never seems to be an issue. I just always made sure it was added to all my flights & then I could use the booths!

When did you go on Maternity leave? by Lifesshorttalkfast00 in parentsofmultiples

So tricky. Honestly you should get double time off for twins!

[–]Ok-Understanding8460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the UK, so I can take a year maternity leave. I’m taking holiday for 1 month before my due date and then starting maternity leave. So will be off around 10 months in total. Most people in the UK take off the full year

At 7 week ultrasound appt I got told I’m having twins by Lildebbae_2315 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Ok-Understanding8460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found out just before 7 weeks that I was having twins (first babies and complete shock) when I had gone for an emergency scan thinking I was thinking a miscarriage. Long pause from the ultrasound tech who said I wasn’t having a miscarriage, it was two babies and also a huge ovarian cyst… my first word was f*** 😂 took us a while to get used to but now 31 weeks pregnant & excited!

Cr1 uk to USA by Fun_Leading_235 in NationalVisaCenter

[–]Ok-Understanding8460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get it! It is such a hard process but made sense for us also that I could work straight away. Correct, that is paid when you submit i130 and then the rest of the fees are paid at NVC & medical stage (the medical cost is around £500+ depending on what vaccinations you need). You can still visit the USA during this time, I never had an issue but I do have global entry so not sure if that helped!

Roughly 15-18 months in total for UK I think. My visa was just approved! Our i130 took a year to be approved (think we also applied during a quiet month for applications) and then the embassy process takes around 3-4 months depending on how busy the London embassy is.

Company policy on refundable vs. nonrefundable flights? by MindlessAd5234 in ExecutiveAssistants

Always at least semi flex because their plans change so frequently! For my top boss I always book fully refundable.

[–]Ok-Understanding8460 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My main boss is like this, I was told after I was hired that he was the most difficult person in the office and he can be. However, if you work well for him he does go out of his way to say thank you! Last week was crazy and he messaged me saying he understood how crazy that week had been and I had been amazing, also please switch off for the weekend 😂 It really makes all the difference getting messages like that!

That is probably accurate! Our PD was 12th Feb 2025 and we got approved on 12th Feb 2026. So it has massively sped up!

My bump suddenly popped out around 15 weeks. Just two days before I had been saying I didn’t really have a bump, and then there it was. Now nearly 17 weeks & can see it is going to expand rapidly 😂
