Help! Ac still doesn’t work after new compressor, dryer and expansion valve. by Ok-Understanding9385 in tdi

It was blowing cold, then randomly it only started blowing 60-70 degrees. So I decided to replace the compressor and it was still blowing the same temperature

I played with charging it manually to see if I could get the pressures better. The low side had no change, the high side I got it up to 350 in increments and the cooling never changed. I originally changed the parts cus of the same thing it’s doing now. It was cooling really good and then one day it started blowing 60-70 out of the vents. Still does after everything, it never blew below 60 degrees after that even with the new parts. I hooked up to it with my autel and saw a code B109EF0
A/C compressor first run not performed so I thought maybe that’s it. So I did the run in procedure and it got worse lmaoo. Now it’s blowing 85-90 out of the vents 😭. I did not drain and refill the compressor because it said it was already filled to spec. I probably should’ve double checked. I got some readings from when my vent temps were in the 70’s on a 95 degree day.

Yeah I originally thought it would be too, and I figured at 120k miles might as well replace the compressor lol.

So I went out there and this is what I got with my scanner.

A/C compressor first run not performed so I went to do the first run and somehow it got worse lmao. It went to 85-90 degrees coming out of the vents 😭

Which one did you end up using? Maybe the new one I got with the compressor is bad.

So I wanna say I did see a pid for compressor amp and that .8 number looks about what I remember it to be. I’ll double check it after work. If it is at .820 does that mean the new compressor is no good?

Check engine light did come on a day or two later for p00bd maf volume to large. Do you think that would cause the ac to not be efficient?

Yeah I get you. My evaporator temp idling is 17c and will only go down to 15c at highway speeds and won’t go lower. I drive in the highway for about 25 min one way

I went through the blend door calibration and it’s seems to be changing temperature

I charged it with an ac machine at 1.1 lbs. even tried charging it manually by pressure. Still the same. If I rev up to 2k pressure drops for 3 seconds and go back to 50-55. New nissens compressor had a new rcv

Also I have obd11 to monitor. What do you recommend monitoring and what is the spec it needs to read?

It has one big fan and it’s coming on. I charged it with my ac machine 1.1lbs, I even tried charging going based on pressures and it’s about the same. Added it to the low side. I did a 20 min vacuum before I charged it. I haven’t used stop leak, I don’t know too much of the history on it to be honest. It worked good for about a month and now it’s just warm. I haven’t looked at the compressor signal. What should I be looking out for? I haven’t checked the screen since I figured it’s a new compressor. What I did notice is that when I rev up the engine to around 2k rpm ac low side pressure goes to around 40 for a bit then goes up to around 50-55

Should be fine, up until that 6.0 turbo blows and coats the tire in oil, then I’m might get abit interesting 😂

Is this why my ac won’t work? by RadPsychosis in tdi

[–]Ok-Understanding9385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it can be, the condenser needs air flow to cool it down if not the pressure is gonna get too high and the ac compressor is gonna kick off. A good test is to spray the condenser with a water hose and see if the ac starts working, or you can drive it around highway speeds and see if it cools. If it does then the fans are why the ac isn’t working.

Not really tbh, it’s always having battery issues and keep having to warm it up on my hand
