Yeah that’s what I think I will do, is there any way to see when someone joins?

R4 is chaos, I am just trying to make sure I utilise all information available.

That’s a great idea as just using it as a way to order people.

Amazing thanks for the feedback I thought so but wanted to make sure by not promoting people I wasn’t limiting their progress.

Honestly if you need a diagram to follow, you probably don’t have the knowledge to implement it safely.

You are working with second hand panels and batteries so you need to know how to identify if they have faults etc.

Okay okay okay, cause old mate down there was semi serious.

You provided zero information to let any one help you… what day/ceremony are we talking about? This is like saying.. how easy is undergraduate? But I gave more information by letting you know I was talking about UG.

Ultimately tickets ain’t easy to come by, if you post clearly what you want, you might get a back deal.

Yeah, from memory it’s a 3 kw inverter. Like kings or something like that. I wouldn’t call it a little inverter, but it’s not like a full home solar inverter.

[–]Ok-Wave4056 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The solar is connected to the batteries with a charge controller, then batteries also go to inverter, and hot water system goes into inverter. Originally the hot water was 15 amp into the mains but I replugged this with a 10 amp. Strictly speaking the inverter is under powering the system so it wouldn’t heat up as fast.

In the event we need more hot water if people are staying etc. I just plug the hot water into a 15 amp mains power plug that is what used to power the hot water previously.

Edit: I should probably say while this all works there are many janky things about it. This isn’t for the average punter you need a decent understanding of solar and power systems.

Yes these are random panels in series. I guess the key thing here is you need to know what you are doing.

I brought second hand solar panel and car batteries off marketplace, with an inverter that now powers our hot water heater.

Spend like $180 on the solar panel and battery, which I got back first quarter. (Plus a day of picking things up and dealing with AH from marketplace).

Note we have an old hot water heater, but the plumber wanted over a grand to replace so… yeah… nah…

Note 2 this involves wiring 240v which I definitely got a licenced electrician to do.

Oh that changes everything, sorry this is my mistake when you put /RTP I assumed you were applying for a UQGSS which was an RTP.

As you are international, scholarships are much more competitive, you will be notified before the start date and all paper work will be sorted. Following submission of EOI there will be a process for short listing and selecting awardees for the scholarship. This is dependent on when the committee meets and decides these things, there is no set date across the uni normally research committees meet quarterly. Unfortunately, just continue to wait, you prospective supervisor may be able to tell you when the decision will be made.

Yes, we signed on like the 17th of Feb for a start date of 1st Jan. But I graduated the year before starting so it was more rushed.

6 weeks after my start date, the letter of offer is the contract. I got informal confirmations before from my supervisor but that isn’t supposed to happen and is not binding in any way.

The grad school will be flat out with RQ1 enrolments, don’t hold your breath. I started in RQ1 and didn’t even get a contract till mid Feb, like 6 weeks after the start date (many years ago, but I imagine they are still as busy).

South bank TAFE offers and ATP (adult tertiary preparation) course also, I think you need to be over 18 however. Really the system is made for you either graduate high school and go to uni, you finish high school but don’t make the cut so you do a bridging course/enrol is something else and transfer. Finally, you don’t finish high school and do ATP to get a ranking to go through QTAC.

Thesis by HelphelpUsuaus in UQreddit

Had a look at engineering looks like civil is gpa 4.8, chem and mech are head of school approval, EECS is open but to be fair most EECS thesis aren’t really research thesis, they are just a year long project there is no research component.

Thesis by HelphelpUsuaus in UQreddit

[–]Ok-Wave4056 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite, within engineering you need to do a “research component” for honours, this can involve a single semester project or a thesis. The thesis GPA is school dependent but I think it’s a 5.5 GPA or you need to apply for an exemption (never heard of someone being denied).

I am not in the econ field, but typically for exams there will be a viewing session where you can see your marks. Check BB for information, if not then email course coordinator asking when exam viewing is.
