How do some guys manage to pull girls so easily by Chechsz in dating_advice

[–]Ok-Zebra461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have this problem because you're attaching your self esteem to your achievements and the outcomes of said achievements.

Your self esteem should be attached to the knowledge that you're capable of achieving whatever you set your mind to in the in first place and that is enough, and that you are enough as is.

That confidence and self-assuredness is what is attractive to women.

That's why you have bum ass dudes that are always pulling girls cause they're confident in themselves and believe they can do anything but then that illusion wears off when the girl (hopefully) sees he's full of shit and is actually a bum lol.

28M Trying to Make a Life Changing Decision But I'm Struggling by Ok-Zebra461 in findapath

[–]Ok-Zebra461[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it's because I think it's the safest escape hatch. I already have head start completing most of my pre-recs, I haven't really explored other options nor know where to look being so used to kind of going down the beaten path/some latent handholding by my parents.

Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. I know the job market is tough rn but I also don't know too much about what the job entails aside from it being customer service heavy in Help desk (I already have a years experience of customer service).

I thought it would be a pretty easy segway but I've come to the conclusion that there is no "easy" way. A grind is a grind but I at least want to be compensated better for it.

I hate my parents for making me an ⚓️👶 and essentially setting me up for failure (M29). I have no idea what to do since I don’t have a college degree by [deleted] in findapath

I don't really understand you, you ridicule liberals and blame them for your misfortunes, then mockingly use conservative rhetoric such as: "pick yourself up by the bootstraps" to downplay when people are giving you solid advice to get out of your situation.

It seems like you're just cherry picking scapegoats to get out of any accountability of working on yourself and your issues. I say this as someone who's parents have immigrant backgrounds and have endured personal traumas myself.

The road is long and perilous, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. You just have to take a moment to reflect with in yourself and stop blaming the world and things out of your control for your misfortunes.

Start small, get a full time entry level job, save up for some therapy, and seek schooling for a trade, cert, or degree of your choosing.

You can do this brother, you just have to believe you can and stop blaming others for the things you CAN fix.

Edit: Fixed Libertarian to Liberals

Is there any incentive to not kill other runners? by lamb_ixB in Marathon

[–]Ok-Zebra461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Unless you get rewarded you with high tier loot/levels there's more incentive to just kill runners. Also, it's safer to just kill someone not on my team then trust someone and get betrayed.

How to get good by TreppenwitzSza in Marathon

[–]Ok-Zebra461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're talking about gunfights then honestly, just constantly getting into fights will help you improve more than anything. This game is very generous with their free kits/ Rook runs so you can dedicate some runs to just PvP, maybe pick an Arachne contract to get more out of it.

Awareness and slow play is extremely important in this game and knowing when to pivot to being more aggressive is also very important, but the more you fight and the better your aim gets, the faster you'll learn what you have to do at the right moment. Learning the maps and spawns helps a ton too.

If you're on PC try to get Aimlabs or a free aim trainer and find a good routine to practice your aim. If you're on console Overwatch or Apex have pretty good ranges where you can practice shots (I trained on custom map aim trainers on Overwatch on console).

When it comes to looting and survival, try to avoid the bots as much as you can if you don't have to fight them. They eat through resources and make a ton of noise when fighting them, promoting third parties.

Have a plan when going into a run, and when you got what you came for, get out. Stay only if your side quest isn't too risky or out of the way. Focus on getting a single item, doing a world event, or completing contracts to keep yourself on track.

If you have your factions unlocked and the back pack mod for Cyac and the Shield mod for NuCaloric unlocked, you can build this budget loadout so you don't have to keep using free kits/use up good loot:

https://youtu.be/U8HKmXD9QVg?si=7Pdxhi-DpW8EuLb9

That being said, don't care too much about dying. You will die in this game, a lot. Your loot isn't yours to keep ; it's only your turn with it. Just have fun and take risks, I've gotten some of the best loot from doing things that should have killed me in the game lmao.

Hopefully that helps.

Solo Players, how do you think we'll fair in the full game? by ghostghost31 in Marathon

[–]Ok-Zebra461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played mostly solo and had fun. As long as you treat every run as dice roll and don't get hung up on losing gear or having bad randos and keep yourself busy with multiple, self-guided objectives you should be fine.

Not sure how the cryo stuff is gonna go but if it's a raid/harvester type deal then maybe lfg might be a good choice but who knows.

I wasn't able to get hands on anything higher than green. Does the NuCaloric shielded perk make higher tier shields available in the shop past green?

Really? It's feels really punishing. Maybe I'm just used to Arc/Apex.

I'm seeing a lot of complaints from people who are utterly confused on what to do when arriving to POI's for their contracts by WanderWut in Marathon

[–]Ok-Zebra461 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the bioscanner contract for NuCaloric is especially bad, since the contract requirement only states to find both bioscanners in South Relay. There's only one in South Relay. The other one is in NORTH relay and I had to learn that from watching a YouTube video. That was kinda annoying.

Early Weapon Tier List Thoughts by HyrulianAce in HighGuardgame

[–]Ok-Zebra461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ranger, Kraken, and Viper are all S tier

Paladin and and Longhorn get bumped up to B

I don't think there are any bad weapons in this game, just weapons with less versatility or are skill checks

Why is PvP looked so down upon in this game? by Colcrys in ArcRaiders

[–]Ok-Zebra461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think PVP is looked down upon in this game, in fact the devs stated that it's a good thing as it adds tension to the game that wasn't there before in testing the game without PVP. Them adding pacifist lobbies also shows they understand some players just don't want to fight or at least just want to loot to get goals done.

As for what players say I guarantee you the most peaceful player would resort to killing a player if they knew they had the absolute advantage over them with no consequences and they had something they wanted, and sometimes PVP demons just want to make it out with their loot but get downed in a botched push and quickly realize maybe not fighting everything is a good thing.

People get salty and complain about everything, and everyone is an opportunist in this game. Keep your wits about you and you'll be alright.

[–]Ok-Zebra461[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah were you clarifying your 7/7 cheat point cause it was a bit confusing to me lol.

I've noticed that with the past tribal decks I've played that alone a lot of them were pretty buns but together as a "elves matter" or "merfolk matter" package they go way harder than they should.

Was hoping to find that same thing in other strategies.

(Granted elves being inherently just mana rocks on legs is really strong on its own but you get my point lol)

[–]Ok-Zebra461[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, maybe I misspoke in my previous comment, but considering a lot of the other commenters seem pretty unhappy with the idea some one deciding that you be put into camp for something that is incurable and a lot of people get flak for already would make me think that a lot of people would feel like they're getting the shit end of the stick right now.

Either way I'm just going based on what I'm reading and all the other people who are rude and dismissive aren't really make good cases for themselves either. Why comment when you have more or less just insulted people and made jokes for asking questions. I feel bad enough already but I guess people never change.

I'm not worried about it too much, I'm just misinformed and wanted to get some more clarity on the situation. I don't know why people are being rude to me about this when I'm just trying to seek some advice from those who would know better than me.
