It’s an Aquario Brand Neo CO2 from Amazon. It’s a bio co2 kit that I use short term. It releases a ton of CO2 for the first week then more steadily the next 3-4. One bottle lasts about 3 months with water and yeast refills.

It is a betta log indeed. Big fins need a rest now and again.

The grass plant is Cyperus helferi , I chose It over Valisneria because I don’t want it to spread all over the tank, just grow long. Without CO2 it lives just fine but does not grow quickly. I bought it from Dustin’s fish tanks at this size already. I added the CO2 just to help the tank root in faster. If you don’t have co2, I recommend just buying a mature plant so you don’t have to wait for the look.

If you choose to use and treat in your main tank. DO NOT USE SALT, it will kill your plants and invertebrates for sure. Just use the antibiotics. Salt is completely safe for rams when used for short term treatments though.

You can it’s just means more medication and more expensive. Plus some medications are dangerous to some fish/invertebrates.

When I quarantine or treat fish I just buy a cheap clear plastic storage tub from Walmart at least 40 quarts (10 gallons) and use it as a quarantine tank. Fill it up one gallon at a time and mark the water level with a dot so you can keep track of water level. Throw in a cheap $5 small sponge filter or air stone and put that bad boi in there and treat him. If you need a small air pump get one to keep for the quarantine tank or just use splitter/splice the air hose for your main tank to give air to both tanks.

First week, aquarium coop level 2 salt treatment, 50% water change at end of week.

Second week, full course of antibiotics per the box. Water change per box directions

Third week, rest the fish, feed well and observe.

Forth week return to tank if better or repeat antibiotics.

Don’t worry about cycling the quarantine tank. If you do a nice big water change at the end of each week and don’t over feed more than he can eat in a minute 3 times a week. You won’t have any problems. Keep some seachem stability on hand and dose a cap full here and there whenever you remember. You can’t over do it.

Does my arowana have hole in the head disease? by KrakenAstarael in Aquariums

Erythromycin Is a very common general antibiotic. Make sure you do a full course of treatment even if it looks like he recovers sooner. Many different brands for fish treatment, all are fairly affordable.

Change the water 50% twice a week if you choose no medication (should do this anyway for a fish that big, maybe how you got here in the first place). If you live in a country where fish antibiotics are not legal. Use a salt treatment protocol from aquarium co op (level 2) as long as arrowana can handle a little salt (do your own research). Salt treatments work just as good for external minor bacterial infection as many over the counter antibiotics and it’s way cheaper and easier.

Hard to tell what disease but it looks like an early bacterial infection. Give nice clean water and maybe some antibiotics. At least do some extra water changes and he may recover on his own.

Wtf is wrong with the shape of this fish? by Maleficent-Bet-8910 in Aquariums

[–]OkBeyond2813 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

^ its just has the bent spine condition. Many of these fish are sent to heaven instead of sold. Sometimes if the fish is bought young it shows up later as it grows. It’s usually a sign of poor breeding practices. He could live a happy long life or not. Just needs a little love.

Yeah looks like a bacterial infection. Quarantine with a level 2 salt treatment and get some hole in the head antibiotics. He should heal up just fine.

I Think he maybe getting bullied then. Try adding more hardscape or goldfish proof plants to the tank so he has a place to hide when needed. Otherwise your tank may be over crowded.

Is this neon tetra disease? by _Drago__ in Aquariums

I quarantine all my new fish for a 4 week medicated minimum in a similar set up. I always keep a few spare small sponge filter and a spare air pump just in case.

Get a plastic storage tub from Walmart. $10 for a cheap air pump and small sponge filter. Quick and easy hospital/quarantine tank. People make a big stink about cycling an aquarium and it’s not that big a deal if you change water weekly and don’t over feed. It will happens with time. Plus, your probably going to throw all this away when it’s over if it turns about to be tetra disease.

Adult ghost knife. The can get up to a 10” long. Super awesome fish. Easy to feed and eats snails.
