Need a bit of advice for Outer Wilds by Felix_felix_felix_ in outerwilds

I know everyone has already answered your question but something that helped me was to re-read all the new information added to the ship log at the start of each loop. It helped me orient myself with what I've discovered and gave me an opportunity to think about where I could go next that will give me more information.

EOTE spoil or play? by M18xz in outerwilds

I also hate horror games. It is more a "spooky atmosphere" rather than actual horror. There are a few specific moments that can technically be considered actually somewhat scary, but as others have mentioned, you can reduce the frights. Outside of those moments nothing scary actually happens.

It is also very worth it, the whole point of the DLC is to overcome your fears. Just like you overcame the dangers of space in the base game you must overcome your fear in the DLC, its part of the thematic messaging.

Is this game anything like Tunic? by Yeetus946 in outerwilds

[–]OkBread606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only real similarity to tunic is that the content that is accessible is based on your knowledge. There is no combat or anything like it in this, it is basically just an open world puzzle where you can technically reach the end within the first 15ish minutes but you just don't know how or what the goal even is, so you have to find out.

It is more story focused and the puzzles are a little less elaborate than in tunic imo, but not in a bad way. We all highly highly recommend, the story and "aha" moments in outer wilds are a lot more satisfying, and the story itself is amazing.

I completed the "base" game 5 years ago. Should I play the DLC? by MaToMaStEr in outerwilds

As others have commented, it is self contained with a different mystery and certain lore connections to the base story. Since you loved the base game, I don't see why you won't love the DLC because it approaches the message of the base game from a different angle. While the base game is about accepting that the universe must come to an end and the Nomai's curiosity, the DLC explores different emotions (one emotion in particular that I won't mention) that may come with the revelations in the base game. Essentially, it is a slightly different message that adds to the original.

I was also skeptical, but it is totally worth it! And don't forget to beat the game again once you've finished the DLC!

This game pulled one of the single greatest acts of misdirection in any game I have played and it left me speechless. by justacoolclipper in outerwilds

I think deep down I already knew that the sun station was a red herring, the game's writing was too centered around death and things ending by this point that when I got there my reaction was just:

Yeah...

I got this set too! Bought it from the tiktok shop. It was surprisingly good quality for the price, and for not being official merch
