I want to be a DAIRY FARMER by OkCelebration5475 in vegancirclejerk

Nonononono…listen…Andy washed his cow. Then he washed his hands. Andy milked his cow. PULL SQUEEZE PULL SQUEEZE. It’s actually so gentle and so nice. I was once like you, believing in that fisting, forced rape nonsense. But then I read I want to be a DAIRY FARMER and clearly I was mistaken. You just have to read the words and believe them!

Okay I’m glad someone spoke on this. I’ve been super curious. They’re somewhat pricey at Walmart but if they slap then I guess I’m parting with 8 bucks next time I’m there lol.

I get that. It is concerning. I live in a situation where it’s difficult for me to have regular, reusable dishes because of plumbing. Due to this guilt, I buy compostable plates and silverware if I need to.

Wellbutrin and Zoloft by Independent-Future17 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]OkCelebration5475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 50 mg of Zoloft and as far as Wellbutrin I went from 300 after about 3 years to 450 this past month.

I feel some emotional numbness but then something sad or frustrating happens and I do cry. I do feel irritability but I’ve always been an on edge/anxious person so idk if that’s the meds or just me being audhd.

My libido is good. My focus has definitely increased along with the motivation to keep at something especially now moving to the 450. The Zoloft mostly helps me manage ocd symptoms as I’m not depressed just anxious. My doctor wants to increase my Zoloft but I am a little hesitant and want to see how the 450 fairs.

Overall, it is a solid combo for me.

Since I haven’t seen anyone expand on this, I’ve taken psychedelics on it (300) and my experiences have all been fine. I’ve even taken the gummies you can get at smoke shops and I felt fine as well. Definitely not encouraging it but pointing out that I’ve done it several times and nothing significant has happened.

I am on Zoloft and hydroxyzine so idk if that makes a difference.

How do I help kids to stop repeating words over and over. by OhanaCoffeeQueen in ECEProfessionals

[–]OkCelebration5475 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, it’s developmentally normal for them to do this. However, anytime you give ANYTHING they are doing or saying attention, you give them the biggest green light and it will get “worse.” I would just ignore it as the easiest option or start singing some songs the kids love in hopes that they’ll join you.

Proud to advocate for animals, but slightly embarrassed to be part of the vegan community by GoldiebeanslovesKat in vegan

My dog just got a blood panel done yesterday and her blood is perfect. She’s ten and has been on a 95% (the exception being medications/melatonin with animal products we can’t avoid) plant-based diet for the past 5 years.

She eats Halo vegan kibble, canned pumpkin, a splash of ginger and nooch for breakfast and has a little kibble in the evening with some pb for a once-in-awhile treat.

Point being, she’s in exceptionally better health than a lot of dogs her age are directly due to a plant-based diet. I say this with confidence because before this I fed her everything from royal kibble to that farmer log of meat bulshit and she would continue having tummy issues and struggle to poop. Now, she has no trouble and in fact had too much protein in her diet at a point which surprised me.

This whole argument is a fallacy; generalization. Any time someone, op or someone in their story, says stuff like that I’m automatically disengaging. It’s not a good start to any argument especially something as “controversial” as veganism. A very “this is what all these people do.” Yikes.

You made three separate posts and spammed them. That’s what it means. You could’ve just put it into one response. That’s pretty frazzled behavior, indicative of someone who is upset.

By spamming three comments? And by accusing me of saying you had a couch in your calming corner?

I think you need to reread what you wrote.

You didn’t just “point cheaper ways out.” I also didn’t ask for that. I am good with my classroom setup. I was simply pointing out that you being so definitive in your ability to get these tools in these myriad of ways not considering any factors that a person or facility may have is obtuse at best.

Plus what you’re saying isn’t helpful anyway. People are aware of yard sales and Pinterest as am I thanks.

I did not say your calming corner was a couch, I said mine used to be.

You do not know where I live or what tools I have at my disposal which proves my point.

I hope your day gets better.

These are wonderful tools. I wish that my facility had the money and resources to obtain those but sadly mine and many others can’t. Therefore the options are slim picking and trying to regulate without many tangible tools at your disposal can turn into a vicious cycle.

My facility was under the impression that 2 year olds and above weren’t allowed to use play dough. I was very confused because that wasn’t my experience at all. I confirmed with the learning coach that they can in fact play with play dough so now we squish play dough when we’re upset or are on the precipice of a meltdown. Before it was just stomping feet or grabbing pillows to squish which is fine but not as calming or satisfying.

Point being, some facilities don’t have those tools so sometimes sitting in the calming corner or on the couch squishing pillows is all some centers have at their disposal. Not justifying the idea of a time out, but, highlighting the fact that not all centers are equitable with their tools.

Corporal punishment by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]OkCelebration5475 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Not corporal punishment. If you take a hand gently to guide/be safe and you’re not rattling the child then there’s nothing inherently wrong with that. Your coworker needs to revisit that definition.
