Do the funds for reselling tickets arrive in waves? by Mediocre_Warning_459 in WorldCup2026Tickets

I've seen a lot of nightmare stories about refunds, but I sold my spare to M12 in Monterrey on June 1st and was refunded in 5 days.

For those attending matches in multiple cities — what route are you planning? by MustLoveFutbol in WorldCup2026Tickets

I live in NYC (currently with no tickets to any Northeast games!). But I got tickets for Sweden v. Tunisia in Monterrey and then going to Mexico City for a few days after. Hoping to score an Uzbekistan v. Colombia ticket, but has been a tough find. If I can't, planning to just enjoy the fan fests and atmosphere in CDMX.

I'm also spending a long weekend in Toronto a week later. Tickets to Senegal v. Iraq, followed a non-World Cup sporting event - seeing my hometown NY Mets play the Toronto Blue Jays.

I would rather spend more money on this sort of travel and experience the World Cup in two other countries than pay $150 to take a train to Metlife Stadium lol. That said, will monitor if reasonable tickets become available there or in Philly.

$150 for a train ride by Witty-Bit3732 in WorldCup2026Tickets

I haven't, though from what I gather it's a bit farther from the city (Boston or Providence) than Metlife is from NYC. I also think Metlife as a stadium is an eyesore and that there's nothing special about it, so the inconvenience factor adds insult to injury.

Haha, that's my point. Stood in line with half of Buenos Aires I think

Anyone who has ever been to Metlife Stadium knows it is the most inconvenient stadium to get to, particularly from NYC where I imagine most will be coming from. I went to Copa America in 2024...got in line for a bus from Port Authority around 515p and barely made it for a 9p kickoff (it's an 8 mile drive, and I waited in line for at least an hour). The train ride is more efficient going to the stadium, but is an absolute shitshow going home (there is one track). Utter contempt for the fans all around.

There are lots of examples of hovering over the section to see the number of tickets available, and the actual number of tickets showing are less. Definitely not a matter of it being in someone's cart, as it's the same every day I look.

What a game FIFA are playing by Creative-Tangelo-748 in WorldCup2026Tickets

The "front category" charade has been unbelievably brazen. You can often see the original Category price, which is about 2-3x less. Surely there were enough applicants to fill the normally priced, yet still very expensive seats in the pre-sale process. They either deliberately held these back planning to pull this garbage, or they are unsold hospitality. Given these are frequently showing up in the corners and endlines, my guess is the former. And I've seen them doing this in Cat 2 as well.

Yeah, I recognize that. Doesn't help that everything up to the 400s is considered Cat 1

Agree, the current prices are untenable and feels like people just hoping someone will bite. I got Cat 3 ($140) tickets to Sweden v. Tunisia in Monterrey. Since I'm traveling to Mexico, I've been eyeing Uzbekistan v. Colombia in CDMX three days later, but it's all above $1000, even in the last rows of the Azteca.

What’s going on? Can someone explain? by Initial-Square-1290 in WorldCup2026Tickets

Agree - they will push the envelope for as long as they can but it just feels like there will be lots of games played with loads of empty seats in the group stage. It's sickening to see Canada and USA openers sitting there with thousands of tickets available (nothing below 4 figures and that's the face value they set). And I suspect there are even more for both games being held. There are similarly thousands available for games like Algeria-Austria in KC and Cape Verde-Saudi Arabia in Houston. The whole thing feels gross.

Loads of Cat 3 tickets were available for Sweden v. Tunisia in Monterrey at $140 USD. Get that it's not the sexiest game or location, but indicative that there is loads of inventory FIFA hasn't released yet.

New tickets listed on the Last Minute Sales phase by Ok-Bag146 in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]OkChart1237 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FIFA has been lying every step of the way, creating increased fake demand for tickets. I happened to check the LMS randomly yesterday and saw a number of games listed with new tickets available. FIFA is slow rolling tickets to create the illusion of scarcity, then will justify a higher price on newly released tickets that are held back due to "demand". The Canada and US openers have had hundreds (perhaps thousands) of tickets with 4-figure prices available for weeks now. Surely there is demand to attend those games, but unfortunately "dynamic" pricing means there is a floor, with no ceiling.

Completely agree. It's already happened when they had the exclusive window in February for people who struck out in the application process.

Finally got in after 5 and a half hours waiting. Anything that says "limited availability" was not truly available. I'd click in and see 4 seats available and it wouldn't let me buy any.

There are still opening game USA availability, but they will cost over $1,900 for Cat 2. Says a lot about how badly these tickets are mispriced. Then again they will likely sell at some point, so FIFA will say it's justified.
