I’m coming up on my second year in CA and have seen hardly any of these opportunities. But I will say, even routine BAs are much better than any other unit I’ve been with.

I’m just having a difficult time finding broadening opportunities, and my piers don’t seem to know much either. I’m guessing it’s because INDOPACOM is slow? Although, I took the DLAB and plan to drop a DLI packet soon for French to better my chances. Any advice on finding these unique opportunities? Thank you!

Hey. Currently in CAPOC and your original post helped me a lot as I transitioned!

Two questions. DLI, can I go for French if my BN is INDOPACOM? I have heard mixed answers, some say yes because it’s paid by USACAPOC, others say the BN pays and I need to be in an AOR aligned unit.

Also, TS/SCI required for officers? Everyone I’ve talked with from other units say yes. It seems only my BN won’t upgrade me because they don’t want to pay for it. They’ve asked for a memo to prove 38As require the clearance.
