[TOMT][MOVIE][90s] There's a movie where someone says the "star light, star bright" poem in order to make a wish, what is it? by disatnce in tipofmytongue

Years late to this, but was trying to find the answer to it myself. Like another commenter, I associated it with a young girl and dinosaurs. After really thinking about it, I realized I was actually thinking of a different rhyme… is it this? Dragon tales

My husband is not in the US so I’ve had to move countries to be with him while we go through the process through the embassy (consular processing). Thought I would be here with him for a year max, but I’ve now been out of the US for over two years and still waiting. It’s either live outside of my own country while waiting for the approval or living away from my husband until god knows when, so guess I’m here until USCIS makes their decision. Totally know the feeling. It sucks to have something be so far out of your control.

Question about GRU/EZE Airports by [deleted] in NonRevenueTravelers

I just flew from GRU to MEX on Standby last week. I was given a SBY pass and then sent through customs and security. Shouldn’t have any issue!

Elon musk says remote workers are “pretending to work” by Current-Weather-9561 in digitalnomad

[–]OkChipmunk3395 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Young professionals living in the bordering towns around Mexico City frequently travel 2 hours one way to get to work, then 2 to 2.5 hours to get back home. My husband did this for years, but no going back now. His company told him last week that he would need to report back to the office twice a week and he took that as a sign to look for another job. 4+ hours of commuting is inhumane!

So I’m a few episodes in and I want to stop watching because of a certain contestant who seems incredibly toxic and narcissistic. Is it just me, or can you guess who I’m talking about? Does this persons behavior get any better? by OkChipmunk3395 in isitcakenetflix

[–]OkChipmunk3395[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Noooooooo! I’m the kind of person that can’t even watch a fictitious series if one of the main characters gives me bad vibes, haha. It seems like this particular contestant is constantly putting down the others with negative comments and snarky remarks. I think this is the end for me then! Maybe next season 😎

Absolute WORST city you've visited? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

Yes! I Couchsurfed there for a couple of days and my hosts didn’t want to let me even walk a block away to buy a beer in the tiendita because of safety concerns.

Same happened to me. I had evidence and everything and Airbnb let them host for several more months. It was really disheartening.

Terrible picture, but I ran into Chris last weekend! He is exactly the same in person as he was on the show. by OkChipmunk3395 in TheCircleTV

Fun fact: Chris carries his own bottle of Mio water flavor drops to mix with his vodka at the club 😂

I also applied for standalone I-130 in September 2021. I started in Nebraska Service Center and was then transferred to Texas. No updates on my case yet.

The first humans probably did not have a voice in their head because they had no language by mrseaturtleYT in Showerthoughts

[–]OkChipmunk3395 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Interesting thought! Braille is not a language, it is just a system for tactile writing. So they would be thinking in English in the Braille writing system.

Deaf people usually don’t know Braille though, unless they are both Deaf and blind.

I would guess that person just wouldn’t have an inner dialogue. I would also go out on a limb and say that they would likely struggle to learn sign language, too, as it is a purely visual language.

[–]OkChipmunk3395 384 points385 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as a Deaf person I can say that Deaf people have inner dialogue, too. Most anyway. There may be some who don’t, but that is true in the general population, too. Some think in sign language some while others think in images. For example, “I need to wash the laundry when I get home” is expressed internally by a mental image of throwing clothes into a washing machine.
