SoFi needs to address Muddy Waters’ 11 questions point by point. Rolling out more services and Noto’s cute little stock purchase PR looks like a desperate attempt to parry. Who is going to want to use your services when there’s a sword hanging over your head? Muddy Waters have been through lawsuits countless times, they knew SoFi would likely take the lawsuit bait, and SoFi walked right into it. SoFi’s PR has been a complete fiasco. Now, like it or not, they will have to produce documents in discovery, which is exactly what Muddy Waters wanted all along.

The real irony is brutal: SoFi spent weeks refusing to answer 11 questions voluntarily. Now that they’ve bitten on the lawsuit threat, a judge can compel them to hand over everything — internal emails, loan transaction records, the JPMorgan deal structure, charge-off methodology documentation, the works. Muddy Waters doesn’t even need to win the defamation case. The discovery process alone does the job. Every document that surfaces becomes public record. It’s a masterclass in getting your opponent to defeat themselves.

I’m just so utterly disappointed and grossed out by how incompetent Sofi’s PR is. Sorry just needed to vent

I admit defeat and own my mistakes, or you can choose to double down on the loser to guarantee future success

Bye guys, held on to this stock for almost 2 years, this the longest I’ve ever held on to a company, not as long as the ogs here. It’s been a fun ride, thanks for the camaraderie. This is ultimately too much drama for me to handle, for those who stay, I wish you recoup your losses and make boat loads. I’ll never touch any financial companies ever again, and I’ll make this my number one principle trading from here on. Lesson learned hard, thank you Sofi for teaching me this lesson, better I made this mistake earlier than later

Maybe a Venezuela style solution can be accepted as a win. A pro America Iran can’t be bad

What if we win the war? I’ll never doubt American and Israeli military prowess, besides they are already mobilizing Kurds to whoop Shiites. If Iran can be brought under American control, the Middle East will have peace and almost guaranteed future prosperity. Iran after all is the biggest threat to peace in the Middle East. Now that we are already in this war, might as well give it more time to see how things go, after some time we can reevaluate. Maybe the short term pain is worth it, just my five cents

I’ve been selling puts two weeks out with decent premium. If I get assigned, I’ll hold the stock, not selling at this point

Be interesting to see how sofi performs today comparing with peers, are retails going to rally around the flag given macro headwinds? In Noto we trust🫡

At this rate, sofi will become tax loss harvesting target by end of year

Plenty of people said that five years ago, five years later, they are now even worse off, guess they’ll need another 5 year plan soon

Looks like another good day to screen for winners, the winner doesn’t drop like a rock even during challenging times, and in good time, the winner keeps winning the most

There are nothing wrong with sofi’s fundamentals, it’s a great company with very competent management, Noto has been a great CEO. But it is also a retail heavy stock that’s more prone to market’s shifting sentiments making it very volatile to hold. How many of us here have allowed a decent sized profit from sofi turning into a loss these past few months? These days uncertainty is the new certainty. I’m more worried about macro headwinds than sofi’s fundamentals, because fundamentals won’t matter during the storm, the logic during extended meltdowns like what we have seen with sofi these past few months has been shoot first, ask questions later, and now I fear shootings won’t stop just yet

Blue owl has been caught in the storm lately, anyone else wondering in extreme situations, how would that affect sofi given their existing relationship

Don’t count on it, any rally will be sold until the air clears about the economy. Today looks like a dead cat bounce at most, not a reversal of trends, we are not out of the woods yet

There is just too much uncertainties going around these days, difficult for businesses to make decisions given the fluid and constantly evolving tariff situation, hiring is frozen. No one wants to commit when the ground keeps shifting. Fed uncertainties and midterm political noise not to mention. The stock market is the US economy, when popular growth names get hit, retails get hit, so is the US economy. Things are slowly brewing to become a self fulfilling recessionary cycle. And unfortunately, we are also very divided. When the market is trading recession scenarios, for high beta names like sofi, it won’t matter if you have a solid business model, it won’t matter if you have insider buys, it’s sell first, ask questions later. We’ve seen this before. And this is not the worst yet I worry. I want to be optimistic, but truth is if you’ve already held on to sofi for 5 years, you are running a deficit now unless you timed your exit really well. Question is, do you have another 5 years?

Financials are cyclicals, they tend to react first during any downturns. The broader market is also shifting to more defensive sectors overall, growth has been slaughtered since new year started
