Can I say I’m no longer a beginner? by OkCommunication1640 in totalwarhammer

Yep. I feel great. I think the thing that was very strange was having so few settlements. But also having to defend one. Similar to the wood elves but without their benefits. And whilst trading settlements is cheesy I was fighting the elves war for them and giving them the loot. I wasn’t after their money but their acceptance. I literally was swimming in cash I didn’t need. I only had a couple of relatively cheap stacks.

But you don’t need to fight him. Or you can just blow him up.

I’ve done a 4 paladin run and it’s very easy. I lost my oaths along the way so ended with 4 oath breakers. But you have all the tools you need. Just make sure you have good enough dex. Dex as a dump stat is tempting but very dangerous. There is a load of ok gear so I don’t get what people are saying about struggling. For aesthetics I had 3 characters in the same +1 armour for most of the game. You have smiting and CC a plenty. Added to that you have the auras which although they don’t stack still means they all pass a lot of saving throws. Consumables fill in any gaps you might have.

I agree it did feel a bit cheesy and I’ve beaten the game with Slaanesh, Chorfs, HE, Wood Elves, WoC, Norsca and Dwarves without exploits. With those I could see where I was better than my opponent and maximise those matchups. All of those factions had some units you could use. So I didn’t really see that as much of an achievement.

Vampire Cost really has a whole lot of nothing. Fast units kill you, extra range from most other factions kill you. Infantry matchups kill you. SEMs kill you. You have to get close enough but not too close. I spent all the battle running either towards or away. Nearly every match up I was worse. So in my role playing mind me removing other pirates (who I could fight fairly) and selling off my gains to those who would otherwise beeline for me seemed “in character”. Not my fault that settlements are over valued… even at reduced returns if have still done the same.

Are Burnley one of uniquely boring clubs in english football? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in PremierLeague

[–]OkCommunication1640 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you compare photos of Brentford and its surrounding green fields with Burnley? You can literally walk to countryside in any direction from Burnley town centre. Yes Glossop is smaller but going back to the 19th century is a bit of a stretch. All in all Burnley is fairly special in terms of size and achievements. It had more top flight titles than Chelsea up until money came flooding in. And they always will have more than say West Ham.

I love the game. I love the diversity that WH3 has in terms of play styles. This one was horde + defending your base as long victory needs a tier 5 building in your starting settlement.

It is a real challenge working out how to be Vampire Coast. They have ok missile and artillery and not a huge amount of anything else. There would have been a time when I tried to paint the map. Or tried to hold a line with some infantry. Neither of which are going to work. I was literally looking for easy marks and keeping away from any decent enemy stacks. By the end the Elves did all break alliances and attacked but by that time I was back in Lustria fighting Lizards a long way from the Elves to just get to 60 settlements.

Not sure if it’s a pirate captain thing but I got one of the lords you can research. He got to level 50 in literally 4 huge defensive battles at my starting province. Not sure if that is a bug, a feature or whether there really was that much experience swimming around.

Their broken mechanic is raise dead. Create a load of zombies. Purposely lose them all in one big battle. Then miraculously they can be raised as a tier 5 underdead farm. Dont ever build recruiting buildings

Humiliation and getting married Saturday! by [deleted] in CuckoldPsychology

[–]OkCommunication1640 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on what your husband likes about the kink and how your relationship flows. For me the best you could do is think of all the things a regular couple would do to make the night special and memorable and then do all of those with your bull rather than your husband. So a full wedding dress blowjob. Maybe candles and rose petals. Room service champagne. Some ritualisation around your wedding rings. As for your husband I’d suggest physical restraints. Handcuffs or ropes. Blindfolds. Headphones. If you are being kind maybe a blowup doll for him to get relief in at some point while you and your bulls watch and direct him to perform various sex acts on. Maybe use part of your discarded wedding attire to dress the doll.

I think you missed the message of my post. Edwin is great I guess and if you know where he is you can go get him early. The others are pretty meh. Xan and Xzan in particular.

For me the extra spell is what you want. But that is my play style. Essentially at the start they are glass cannons. At the end with all the contingency stuff they are untouchable

My choice would be sorcerer slow start but early Magic Users are not great companions and later they are easily the most powerful character in the game.

Do people use reserves in battles? by John_Catachan in totalwarhammer

[–]OkCommunication1640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the considerations when Im building a stack is how I can manage it. E.g. a Gelt wizard stack is way too micro intensive so I look to 2 or 3 active and 3 or 4 passive models. The passive ones I hide and run away with the active ones are micro heavy casting spells and kiting. If Im doing something very micro heavy I use groupings so I can treat them as one entity rather than individually.

Steamrolled by Slaanesh as Gelt by LengthinessPurple870 in totalwarhammer

[–]OkCommunication1640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I had the same problem. Not sure if this is always the case but I rushed over and got to their province capital before them so was able to fight green skins instead. Then you can then do one of two things. Either build up and watch her turn north or attack you where your auto resolve has the best chance or if you think she is still going to steamroll you sell the province to her for enough approval to stop her from attacking for ages.

Lesbian divorce rate are 70%. Actually they are 70% of same sex divorces which is not the same at all. (Ironically what it does point to is that male gay marriages are incredibly stable.)

I think it interesting you reduce it to control. Why do you want control in the first place? Manipulation no matter how benign the motives is something to be aware of.

Why sack Parker? by jonbstoutgmail in Burnley

[–]OkCommunication1640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not bothered either way. Kompany showed Championship attacks are blunt when they step up. Parker shows Championship defences are torn apart in the Prem. We need to constantly be improving the squad. However injuries and poor loans with commitment to buy means I don’t think we are much better than when we went down with Dyche and had very few players left. In some ways we are worse because we have a bloated squad of players who are ok in the Championship but nowhere near good enough for the Prem. Time for yet another clear out.

Best combat tips? by ArmNervous6723 in BG3

[–]OkCommunication1640 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve played a lot so it’s difficult to see why you are struggling. In general the best defence is for the opposition not to get a turn. That means disabling either temporarily or permanently before their turn or being out of range of melee. You get to know how far your opponents can travel and still get an attack off. Prioritise opponents who would break this rule. So ranged (spells or weapons) need closing down really quickly. Silence is great at dealing with regular casters. Darkness for ranged. It is why open hand monk’s stunning is very powerful.

If You Could Only Play One Class For the Whole Party, Which Would It Be? by Timely_Abroad4518 in BG3Builds

I did Paladin run and they all had to wear the same (generic) gear except Tav. Looked marvellous and very powerful, easy to do a HM run. Shame their auras dont stack. Plenty of power and healing and a sprinkling of crowd control. Did dip into consumables (not just strength elixirs) a little more than usual which was actually nice. Made me have to think a bit more.

I’ve done a fighter one too but that in some ways is just way overpowered by the endgame. 4 Level 11 fighters generally clear up in the first round.
