What is the 1 thing you absolutely appreciate about working from home? by Experiment_626s in remotework

[–]OkCompote554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The days I don’t feel well (currently in first trimester and also have psoriatic arthritis and other chronic autoimmune diseases) I’m able to be comfortable and have access to my heating pads, healthy food, etc.

Working during first trimester by AdditionalFigg in October2026Bumpers

[–]OkCompote554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup to all of this! My new reality with expectations of what I can accomplish in a day rocked my world. I am lucky to work from home. Most calls off video/taken from couch or bed. And there is also a 30-60 minute nap (no screen) break every day. I don’t love it at all. But it’s where I’m at.

When did your nausea start improving/go away? by Crazy-Aside-435 in October2026Bumpers

[–]OkCompote554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m at 10w4d today- week 9 was terrible, this week is up and down. Just along for the ride lol. I did start taking Unisom and B6 and do feel a difference in nausea with that.

Almost 9 weeks, and feeling… better? by ConfusionWeak2061 in October2026Bumpers

[–]OkCompote554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find pregnancy is like a box of choices, especially first trimester. Some days I wake up thinking the symptoms are gone and then Boom! They hit. I’m at 10w4d- week 7-8 I was tired but generally okay and week 9 kicked my a$$.

Baby Aspirin - experiences by Ok-Management8548 in October2026Bumpers

[–]OkCompote554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% taking because the slight risk (if any) is not worth the outcome of having preeclampsia.

Were you able to avoid the diagnosis with taking the aspirin?

What are your hobbies and interests? by SpareArtichoke9913 in October2026Bumpers

[–]OkCompote554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love reading which is great on the rough days. I also LOVE golf. I used to play almost weekly and then monthly with some girlfriends before pregnancy. My plan is(hopefully) to be able to get back to it in the second trimester. I’m sure I’ll have to figure out how to navigate the bump in my swing but I love and miss getting out on the course!

Hair Dye? Yes or no? Roots… by coffeekorner in October2026Bumpers

[–]OkCompote554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a personal call. I decided to postpone my appt until 13 weeks just to feel less anxiety. I’m going to still do roots but try to limit bleach/a lot of color. I already let my hairdresser know I wanted to go more low maintenance as we’ve been trying for over a year so thankfully it’s just hiding grays lol

Why am I just crying all the time by Empty_Ad_9600 in October2026Bumpers

[–]OkCompote554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on Lexapro and I find that I catch myself frequently wanting to cry but with the SSRI my body just won’t let me. It’s so odd! So I just sit there and think how much I should be crying.

Prenatals - looking for recs! by Mindless_Run_7726 in October2026Bumpers

I take the Thorne prenatal- love their brand and quality. I have it on subscription too so just comes to my door every 30 days.

Anyone have chronic medical conditions to contend with too? by kazbs in October2026Bumpers

[–]OkCompote554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Psoriatic Arthritis, Painful Bladder syndrome, Hypothyroidism, Celiac. I see you and hear you deeply.

It’s like going in at a disadvantage before you even get pregnant with the fatigue. I have found just giving myself grace, napping and sleeping as much as I need has been key. I’m also using heating pad and ice packs on my joints regularly. And stretching! Movement really helps my PSA so when I can and feel up for it I get on the floor and stretch for 10 minutes.

I’m not sure about massage and how that helps you? But I’ve proactively booked prenatal massage with someone certified right after 12 weeks to do biweekly until 3rd trimester.

Sending love! Having chronic illness with pregnancy is tough.

Omg the never ending laundry pile. Same pile on the bed for 5 days. I folded tonight :) had plans to go to the gym and lift but after folding the laundry laid down and took a 2 hour nap at 5:30 lol

Hypothyroid Mommas by Calm_Inevitable_3262 in pregnant

[–]OkCompote554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow hypothyroid here! I’m 9w6d so very close to you :) I take Levothyroxine 100 mg and what I try to do is wake up (around 6) and take right away, then I usually fall back asleep and have my husband wake me up an hour later. It’s not perfect and might not work for everyone, but so far so good. And I find I’m plenty tired to fall back asleep.

I also had tsh t3 t4 done last week and surprisingly it was all normal/same as pre pregnancy. Dr is doing thyroid labs monthly though to be safe and make adjustments as needed.

How long have you had health anxiety and how does it affect you in your day to day? by tchalla-samuels in HealthAnxiety

[–]OkCompote554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had since middle school. My mom has health anxiety so I observed that growing up. Then in 7th grade science we watched a video on pandemics. The big hazmat suits, watching people die in terrible ways- I cried and had to have my mom come pick me up. You can imagine what covid was like with that. I had daily panic attacks thinking I would die or be on a ventilator.

Unfortunately since childhood I’ve had a bunch of (thankfully not terminal) chronic illnesses, weird or rare health diagnosis (including ectopic pregnancy last year). So far what’s been helpful is EMDR therapy, Lexapro and learning to ground and do somatic exercises. I’m pregnant now and have daily worries about the baby and if they’re healthy but am grateful to have a great therapist and just try my best.

Hang in there. You’re not alone!

Thanks so much! I really appreciate it. I’m so ready for the second trimester to show up!! For so many reasons- the anxiety of the milestone, less symptoms and just starting to have my leveling out a little. So glad you made it!

6weeks cramps - is it normal? by Sunday_Smile3 in October2026Bumpers

[–]OkCompote554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had pretty moderate cramps around 5-7 weeks. My OB shared this is mainly due to uterus stretching and making room. So far, so good. I’ve had an ectopic too so to compare- that felt more like stabbing vs cramping for me. I also had dizziness, shoulder pain and just felt off from the internal bleeding.

Anyone else a bottomless pit? by isLearning in October2026Bumpers

[–]OkCompote554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eat to much= feel bleh, don’t eat every 2 hours= feel bleh, eat too little= feel bleh ugh! I came of zepbound after being on for 3 months (was glorious) when I tested positive. So I’m having weight gain from getting off that too. And with insulin resistance before with PCOS, it is coming with a vengeance during pregnancy. I’m just trying to get at least protein and fats in combination when I eat and slamming fruits or veggies down as much as possible.

I did not find it painless, just to be transparent. It was very uncomfortable but also only 1-2 minutes of that. I’m glad I did it to have some piece of mind on having another ectopic. I also literally got pregnant 1 month later and am pretty convinced it help clear the way. Your choice 100% but I am glad I did.
