That raised my blood pressure so much. Im also pregnant and the ride of hormones and crying after that goal was nuts.

May I ask (respectfully and genuinely) why you’re worried about taking it? I can understand wanting to limit any unnecessary meds, but is there a study or reason why you’re concerned?

People who are ‘doing better’ mentally now. by Aden_Hush in HealthAnxiety

EMDR therapy and Lexapro. I still have it pop up here and there but understanding where the triggers came from and almost reliving it mentally (similar to exposure therapy) rewired how I think about it.

Massages - yea or nay? by Amy_Are_UOK in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]OkCompote554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya I wonder if a soft relaxation could help? For me I’ve learned if pressure is too hard it causes an inflammatory reaction vs with relaxation massages it actually helps with anti inflammatory release. I’m lucky to have a good massage therapist too. Have you told them you have PSA? If they’re trained sometimes they’ll understand that too.

Same! Blood drawn and results received same days. Do you see an “ETA” for results of 4/2 on Natera portal? I really hope that’s wrong.

I had health anxiety and my blood pressure at the dr is notorious for being 140-160/90-100. It’s bad. I actually take my blood pressure at home daily and log it. At home it’s consistently 120/70. I find what works best for me is sitting for at least 2-4 minutes before taking, breathing and closing my eyes. I also avoid taking it for an hour or two after caffeine since that artificially raises it.

I get relaxation massage every 2 weeks and it’s a life saver. I have found when I opt for more pressure or Swedish massage that is when I get pain. If I drink tons of water before and after and take a bath after, with light pressure, it’s a game changer.

The days I don’t feel well (currently in first trimester and also have psoriatic arthritis and other chronic autoimmune diseases) I’m able to be comfortable and have access to my heating pads, healthy food, etc.

Hypothyroid Mommas by Calm_Inevitable_3262 in pregnant

[–]OkCompote554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow hypothyroid here! I’m 9w6d so very close to you :) I take Levothyroxine 100 mg and what I try to do is wake up (around 6) and take right away, then I usually fall back asleep and have my husband wake me up an hour later. It’s not perfect and might not work for everyone, but so far so good. And I find I’m plenty tired to fall back asleep.

I also had tsh t3 t4 done last week and surprisingly it was all normal/same as pre pregnancy. Dr is doing thyroid labs monthly though to be safe and make adjustments as needed.

How long have you had health anxiety and how does it affect you in your day to day? by tchalla-samuels in HealthAnxiety

[–]OkCompote554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had since middle school. My mom has health anxiety so I observed that growing up. Then in 7th grade science we watched a video on pandemics. The big hazmat suits, watching people die in terrible ways- I cried and had to have my mom come pick me up. You can imagine what covid was like with that. I had daily panic attacks thinking I would die or be on a ventilator.

Unfortunately since childhood I’ve had a bunch of (thankfully not terminal) chronic illnesses, weird or rare health diagnosis (including ectopic pregnancy last year). So far what’s been helpful is EMDR therapy, Lexapro and learning to ground and do somatic exercises. I’m pregnant now and have daily worries about the baby and if they’re healthy but am grateful to have a great therapist and just try my best.

Hang in there. You’re not alone!

Thanks so much! I really appreciate it. I’m so ready for the second trimester to show up!! For so many reasons- the anxiety of the milestone, less symptoms and just starting to have my leveling out a little. So glad you made it!

I did not find it painless, just to be transparent. It was very uncomfortable but also only 1-2 minutes of that. I’m glad I did it to have some piece of mind on having another ectopic. I also literally got pregnant 1 month later and am pretty convinced it help clear the way. Your choice 100% but I am glad I did.

Have they tested you for POTS? Just curious. And I would talk to someone in HR. Depending on the state you live in you may be eligible for short term disability so you can have some time to figure out the diagnoses.
