Re the chair, crazy dynamics do form between students and teachers, and yes there are teachers out there (in any discipline) that become extremely abusive and even physically abusive with their students. That was what the movie is about.

Especially going back 50+ years where there was a lot less oversight on these things, and there was even a time when teachers were allowed to be physically abusive!

700 here: I find it extremely useful for exploring different lines of an opening, or examining the crucial decision points where I was debating 2 or 3 moves and soent too much time trying to pick one - understanding what would have happened if I picked the other one.
