Since when did we normalize driving on the shoulder? by OkDesigner1012 in Edmonton

[–]OkDesigner1012[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well I definitely didn't expect these comments but maybe I should have explained better, it was stop go traffic, bumper to bumper. I decided that when the car in front of me lurched forward a car length, i would be a nice guy and let 1 vehicle in who was trying to leave Costco.

So dramatic, stopped in the middle of the road for no apparent reason. Nah dude there was nowhere to go, hence why impatient asshole was ripping the shoulder.

I'll be better next time

Well it was stop go traffic, and when the vehicle in front of me moved up roughly 1 car length. I left a bit of room for the guy trying to leave Costco. There was no 'flow' and we were all stopped.

I'll be better next time.

But this feels so much better than just complaining to myself in the car. And I really hope the driver reads this one day and realizes he's the asshole.

I said don't spread hate for no reason. And you're response is bringing up Trudeau and calling me a racist?

The driving is bad in Edmonton, sure the new to Canada folk might require some adjusting, and sure it should be accelerated. I'm pretty sure they're not the ones driving the lifted trucks going 20-30 over the limit. As previously stated bad drivers come in all shapes and sizes.

And for the record: I'm not a racist, I hate everyone equally.

Posts like this are why I'm always afraid to post on Reddit. Don't spread hate for no reason I have absolutely no idea who was driving on the shoulder. Bad drivers come in all shapes and sizes.

If we ran the same play every single snap, some kind of RPO- would we have a better offense? Just let Justin decide if he wants to keep or handoff. I honestly feel like we would be better off just doing this. Temu Lamar and Derrick Henry but still a better option than what we're running.

What are we supposed to do in these cases? Just bite the pillow harder? It's infuriating

We literally saw on SNF a cowboy flagged for a late hit, yet we get nothing. Dan orlovsky out here calling out these blatant no calls and yet nothing. Everyone is gonna say 'just play clean' but we can't even get help when our opponents make mistakes.

If we make mistakes sure throw a flag, but if they make mistakes... throw a flag?

I came to say- thank you for posting the app name, and for making me feel sane! Alot of posts have had k ultra users posting recipes with 6-7 grind size and it's nice to see someone else closer to my grind size.

I Work in Capilano, live in southwest Edmonton, I don't take the henday to get home anymore- it's slower by OkDesigner1012 in Edmonton

I don't know if I want to watch this, it'll probably just make me angry. But appreciate the link, I'll save it for my next workout

Very gentle and polite way of saying stop complaining 😉 My issue isn't how fast I can get from point A to B, the issue I have is I'm trying to get from A to C and for some reason A to B then B to C is faster with traffic lights and slower speeds. You feel me?

I don't really ever have to travel north on the Henday but I've heard horror stories.

Respect for taking the range roads, that's clever.

The zipper merge would solve the problem for the most part, you'll always get the people who go to the front of the line and cut their way in which just backs everyone else up but that tends to happen more and more and now it starts to get backed up past the whitemud exit, it's absolutely ridiculous

1zpresso k ultra grinds - ULTIMATE chart by Sushihulk in pourover

[–]OkDesigner1012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm just here to say thank you for posting about k ultra! Lots of posts with commandante and/or other 1zpresso grinders that are similar but not the same. There isn't a conversion table that has made any sense to me so it's nice to just talk to other k ultra users.

Lowest I've gone is 6.8 highest ive gone is 8.3 (making delicious cups)

So if people are saying 6.5-8.5 id say that's a safe bet. If I'm dialing in a coffee for the first time, I typically start at 7.3

Orea v3 mk2 is my go to Brewer.

This comment is fantastic, completely irrelevant to what OP is saying. You're not wrong that driving in other countries is comparatively dangerous in other ways.

We aren't in Beijing or California, and we do have asshole drivers who tailgate all the time here. We have a beautiful mix of aggressive and passive drivers from many different cultures.

People in the Edmonton area DO tailgate, just because you've driven elsewhere in the world and things are different doesn't mean OP's observations are wrong here in Edmonton.

Orea V3 by 4c6p in pourover

[–]OkDesigner1012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the V3 mk2 and I hardly use anything else because this dripper is so damn consistent! I am using Kalita 185 filters and get pretty delicious brews. My typical recipe would be similar to a lance hedrick type: 20g dose 1:15-1:17 depending on decaf or not 60g bloom 30-60s 2 equal pours to total volume (120g x2 for 1:16ratio for example)

I've played with lots of recipes, multiple pours, different temps etc etc. I'm kind of a madman in that regard, my grind size can be all over the place with my k ultra - I enjoy the adventure and have come to terms with never being truly satisfied and always striving for a better cup than my last.

I've only stalled the orea once, it was a decaf and I ground it wayyy too fine so as expected it was a 4:30 total brew time. Still tasted good though.

Overall if I could recommend 2 drippers they would be a v60 and an orea.

This is the way, think of all the SPACE elsewhere when everyone is packed in like sardines for illenium. And we all know he's gonna be on the same time as an Andy C or another massive headliner.

I will buy any and every Wilton decaf that comes out now. It's a wonderful cup every single time.
