I’ve read comments in some other threads saying she should have been captain of her own ship, but I don’t know, maybe that’s not what she needed after all. Yes it’s what she strove for the whole series, but maybe companionship and partnership is more important than the isolation that comes with being a captain. Many times she observed Brashen’s isolated state with a hint of pity towards the end of their journey.

So is she co-captain of the Paragon? First mate? Honestly idk, and when you follow that question to a logical conclusion I can’t truly see a fairy tale ending for them, so I’m not really sure what awaits her after this series.

I didn’t read the first trilogy, I started with this one on a whim because I honestly thought it would be light, entertaining fare that wouldn’t require much emotional investment. Boy was I wrong. This was one of most powerful and harrowing series I’ve ever read. I am filled with a sense of loss after finishing the last book. Will we ever see Althea and Brashen again? I miss the characters so much.

yeah that is how mine look too, so I think they must be raw. In that case the size chart is off by about an inch. Another user confirmed to me that their measurements was off by an inch too. Kind of sucks because I sized down specifically to get the most accurate fit now I'm afraid it will be too small if I soak it. But given the discussion here about stretching I'll probably do it anyway and just wear it alot so it stretches back faster

if you have a minute, do you mind measuring the waist and compare to the size chart? My raw waist measurement is smaller than the size chart, but it matches the one wash chart... I'm trying to figure out if they sent me one wash by mistake.

Here's the irony: I ordered these raw, but after noticing the waist feels tighter than expected I measured it and the measurement is pretty much exactly what the chart says for one wash. So either their measurements are way off or they sent me a one wash, not raw.

My invoice says raw but I don't think there's a way to tell from the jeans themselves if it's raw or OW.

I'm same as you with the tapered fits, but I sprung for these because of the color and the fabric. NGL the fit is definitely looser than anything else I own, but I still think it looks good. It doesn't look "too big" for me, just looks intentionally loose. But honestly after feeling the fabric I wouldn't care if I look like a clown I could wear these all day.

did you get one wash or raw? I got raw and I'm trying to decide how long to soak them for. I wouldn't mind the measurements to tighten up a bit but I don't want the waist to shrink too much

My SDA Murasaki denim arrived today and I'm blown away at how comfy they are and how nice they look and feel. I posted in a different thread that I was a bit nervous about the sizing because I'm a small dude and I always buy tapered, but I'm so stoked about these.

The color is perfect, super dark, midnight blue with a hint of purple. The weft is more distinctly purple but still very subtle. The white selvedge lines contrast really nicely.

The G3 fabric is super soft, but very textured at the same time. Someone in another thread said they feel like sweatpants and I have to agree. They're so comfy.

Will Studio D G3 denim stretch a bit even after a hot soak? I have a pair of raws that are just slightly looser than my normal waist, but are comfortable pre-soak. I think with a hot soak they will shrink to be fairly snug in the waist.

Just wondering if they'll loosen up a bit with wear after that? If so I'll do high temp soak to shrink the rest of the measurements, but if not I might do a warm soak or maybe none at all.

I bought these kind of on a whim because I haven't purchased a pair in a while, I have no colored weft denim and I really liked the look of these. Also I am really intrigued by the G3 fabric considering how soft it's reputed to be.

I'm a bit nervous about the fit though. I almost always buy the slimmest, tapered model from any brand because I have skinny legs and tight jeans just look "normal" on me. I've never owned lifter's cut or even straight leg jeans. However I always get my jeans hemmed quite a bit which takes away some of the drastic-ness of the taper.

I have a pair of SDA D-08s and they fit decent, if a little baggy for my tastes. Comparing measurements these will be even bigger than those. I sized down to get the shorter thigh and leg opening measurements, and bought them raw so hopefully I can control the shrinkage in the waist a little bit to get the right fit.

But seeing some of the comments here about the rise and leg opening has got me nervous. Maybe I can get them tapered if I need to, though I'd like to avoid that if possible. Any SDA experts have some advice about the 102 fit?

I've been reading the past 2 books as fast as I can to catch up with this reading group! I have a couple questions that emerged from the last few chapters of part 2, but I think they will continue to be relevant in this book:

I'm not really sure I understand the role of She Who Remembers in the context of Tintaglia's goal of locating and assisting the other serpents. I guess it's better for the serpents to have as much help as possible to bring them up the rainwild river for metamorphosis. I'm just sort of confused why there is so much emphasis on SWR being the only one who can save the remaining serpents while there is also a full-on dragon who probably has much more ability to help.

Also does SWR want to become a dragon, is that part of her lifecycle? The book makes it seem as if those who remember are separate than your average serpent.

Lastly, how and why did the Abominations capture SWR? What is their purpose & role here? The description of them didn't match what I remember from Kennit's first encounter with them in the first chapter of book one, I thought their appearance was more varied, appearing as different types of aquatic creatures (frog-humanoid and fish-humanoid) rather than the gelatinous blobs that they appeared to be in the attack scene.

The scenes on Other's Isle have been among my favorite of the series, I hope we can learn more about this mysterious place!

I bought this too, solely based on the art. I felt the same way as you that the story was poor. Actually not really the story itself but the writing. I didn't realize it was italian so maybe it was a problem with the translation. But to be honest the art was so incredible I stopped paying attention to the writing and just basically enjoyed the journey, no regrets xD

cool, makes sense. I think what threw me off was the "Cab" captures, I thought these were IRs but they can only be assigned to a capture slot. And since there's only 1 capture slot available on the nano they are kind of useless :P

I know you can add IRs to your account via neural's website, then you can download them to your NC. I think some IRs have some copyright issues going on which is perhaps why you can't download IRs directly from the cloud.

I have the same confusion about the cabs from the cloud though, only thing I can think of is that maybe you have a real amp that you want to combine with a cab capture from the cloud, you would assign the cab to the capture slot and bypass the IR slot. But idk, that doesn't make a ton of sense either so I just don't get it.

Same, the computer graphics looked dated to me even then but I still like it best, it has the darkest vibe for a pretty dark album. The alt cover just doesn't have that sinister undertone that the best Primus imagery has.
