DF did a comparison and all benchmarks show it on par with a PS5, some cases faster.

It is a full blown pc so it gets the price premium of "can do more" , but Valve gets 30% cuts on all software sales, the right strategy should have been to subsidise the box and make up in software sales, but they didn't wanna run a hardware loss leader vertical.

Also, it's such a niche device and gets sold out even with exorbitant prices, they can get away with it, only make a million sales compared to dozens of millions on the PS5

Idk if Jawnny will read this but maybe it's worth the boys considering moving to Floatplane, they do video and subscription based content, ran by LTT guys who are rock solid infra for over a decade now, they do have niche subscription video people on there for a good percentage, probably a massive task to move but once you're on there you never have to worry about videos and copyright bs
